Speaking of todays oppenants I see on the sky site theyve told Jabo he can leave

Glad Fordes nabbed another goal today if we are to succeed we need more players like our wingers chipping in with the goals, I'm just hoping everyone can stay fit ready for the preston game... no unneccesary injuries before the biggest game in a good many years.

I'd pick him up, or at least have a good look at him. He would certainly be in our price range salary-wise and we need a back up to Bradshaw who can score an occasional goal.

No substitutions at half-time - Attendance 2,980
We now have Port Vale 2 Peterborough 1
and Swindon Town 3 Chesterfield 1
Notts County got a penalty on half-time against Crewe Alex - we're now 12th.......

Interesting about Jabo, would be a 1000% better prospect as a goalscorer than the Manset slow moving oil tanker!
Good to see us in the lead today, with our abysmal home form we just HAVE to seek points away from home to retain mid table oblivion (only joking!!). Very pleased to see mighty Preston dropping points at home against lowly Orient!! :) :) Perhaps there is hope of us getting to Wembley after all, just depends what Walsall defence turns up on the night.

Describing Jabo, bless him, as a goal scorer was optimistic 4(?) years ago and there aint a lot of evidence statistically that he's improved this since leaving us.
I'd personally welcome even Ciderquest back in preference to Mansett or Grimes. Might be a few years too late for Jabo though.

The BBC "Live scores" page isn't updating unless I refresh it, and their Colchester v Walsall page has bombed altogether. I've switched to the Sky equivalent to try and monitor progress.....
Still Colchester 0 Walsall 1 (as far as I can tell) :?
63 minutes, and Hewitt (Colchester) header hits the Walsall crossbar.... :?
MK Dons 1 Sheffield Utd 0 (which puts us only 3 points from the play-offs)

Colchester hit the bar followed by a rebound that went wide. Living dangerously.

And good to see more players chipping in with goals, with both Cain and Forde having scored twice in the last three games :) .

The fact we are only 3 points off the play-offs (currently, would not be surprised if we drew 2-2) just shows how cack this league is.
We strengthen our squad (a centre back and a backup striker), get Cain on a permanent to cover Mantom, then this is potentially one of the best chances we have of getting 6th.
Not that I expect us to always be challenging given our budget and attendances (blah blah blah blah), but Smith should take advantage.

Now there's a possible Wembley date I would fly over for...

The E&S site said that O'Connor had a 3 to 4 inch long cut on his head. No details on Taylor's injury

That`s another good result away from home. Pity it has not been repeated at home, yet!
