As usual a ridiculous amount of negativity on this board for what will be an excellent point away.

Maybe 1-5 was better

Where's the negativity? No one is being negative just a bit disappointed we haven't capitalised on early possession.

Thank god we have a decent defence because the lack of goals is very worrying.

It has been so evident from the start of this year that our threat up front is cack. Why cant Smith sort this out?

Sexy football though...

No doubt some people would prefer that we played like the Dingles, who managed to lose:

4-0 at Brentford today !!!!!

Wow the dingles were on WM last week saying 'he's gorra gew' wish I was at home to listen! The only time WM is entertaining.

Excellent point today well happy with that.

Couldn't care less how many shots we've had.

What a defence. Butler was obviously our weak link in the past.

Nice little unbeaten five match run in the league. Getting frustrated by the lack of goals though - we've had 54 shots in those games but only scored 4 goals. A very average League One strike force would have scored 6. A good attack more like 7-8. Should be five wins in a row, which would have put us top 10.

A point away is good, but the stats / results ain't gonna get the crowds flooding in.

19 league games played:

9 without a goal
15 goals in total
5 goals scored in the first half
6 0-0 draws

Still, we are top of the bottom half :D

Crowds will start dropping quite quickly only being artificially propped up by free/discounted tickets to school kids.

Indeed. Although some would argue otherwise, professional football is in the entertainment business. I haven't been this season, mainly due to work pressures, but I'm hardly being tempted away from it as in previous seasons. A 320 mile round trip to see a game of chess doesn't seem worth it at the minute.

Mid table mediocrity is worse than a relegation battle as far as the adrenalin is concerned, but add in a lack of goal excitement at either end and you may as well go shopping with your missus.

Wish people would stop using falling crowds to prop up flimsy arguments when the crowds are not falling!

What is the flimsy argument that is being propped up Funk?

Also, Funk, Crowds have fallen since 2008, and to arrest the decline further, the club has has to become more generous with ticket prices such as early birds and free season tickets for under 18's.

Good turn out by you lot today, although you seemed a little quiet.

You were better than us for the first 70 mins; passed the ball around okay, although you don't appear to have a goal scorer.

Mind you, most teams are better than the pile of rent-dodging crap served up by Pressley.

Any away point is a good point but our possession and stats in the first 70 minutes should have seen us get at least one goal.
Glass half full (at least).

Good result, that.

The situation we find ourselves in is strange. When Bradshaw plays we look a lot more threatening, yet if you'd told me when we signed him that he'd prove to be a major goal threat, I'd have laughed. What I suppose I, saying is, we could be a lot, lot worse in front of goal than we have been.

I am sure I said 'will' and not 'are' then again whatever suits their arguments. Just like stats, cannot use stats to say Smith Out but can use them to say Smith In.

the absence of a goal threat is due to Dean Smith's bankrupt offensive tactics. He is the one to blame rather than the players.

Yes Dean Smith's weak understanding of attacking football and formations is to blame for that. He is seeming like someone who is robotically reading from a script he doesn't understand.

We could be winning and scoring if we had a manager who understands more about flexibility in formations... A manager who only understands one failing approach seems like an unlikely reality, however that is where we find ourselves.

Dean Smith's poor and irrational decision making concerning formations and attacking football is the root cause of Walsall's goal drought.

Sadly it also seems he is either too stubborn, too stupid, too ignorant or too blind to make the necessary and obvious adjustments.

I predicted this match would be a 0-1 or 1-2 loss..... as under Smith we unlikely to ever score more than one goal. And as half-predicted we don't score.

Perhaps Richard O'Kelly without SMith is the better option.

The most tedious thing is a manager whose errors stare him in the face yet he does not recognize them. Like a drug addict who fails to address his addiction.

I am thinking that Dean Smith might be the weakest manager in Walsall's history in terms of organizing the attack.

Drug addicts have some associates in their social circle who continue to reinforce their bad habits.

Oppressive governments are in fact propped up by those who vote, assist or comply with them.
