Coventry City (A) League One, 29th Nov, 3.00pm
Off to play the rent-dodgers on Saturday, and stretch our unbeaten League run - despite all the moans and groans it should be remembered that our last League defeat was over a month ago (Crawley, October 21st). It would be handy if Tom Bradshaw could be declared fit enough to play, but it's by no means a certainty.
Coventry City's form is very mixed. Although they picked up their first away win of the season last Saturday (Colchester, 0-1) they still occupy 18th spot in the table, 2 points behind ourselves, and with a goal difference of -7. Manager Stephen Pressley has been getting very vocal of late, accusing certain players of being in "comfort mode" and not giving of their best. A quote from his interview with local radio after being dumped out of the F.A. Cup by Worcester City is worth repeating... "An incident occurred after the game that told me all I needed to know about certain players. And they will be gone. They will be banished from this football club." All is apparently not well in the Coventry camp.....and their recent form:
25 Oct Peterborough United (H) Won 3-2
1 Nov Leyton Orient (A) Drew 2-2
9 Nov Worcester City (H) Lost 1-2 (F.A. Cup 1st round)
12 Nov Plymouth Argyle (H) Won 2-0 (F.A.Trophy)
15 Nov Notts County (H) Lost 0-1
22 Nov Colchester United (A) Won 0-1
Goalscorers in League matches are very even in their contributions, with 5 players (Johnson, Martin, McQuoid, Nouble and O'Brien) all chipping in with 3 goals each. On the other hand they have managed to concede 28, so perhaps we might grab one of our famous 0-1 away wins.........
That's my forecast, 3 points for The Saddlers after a 0-1 trouncing of the Sky Blues, Cook to score.

Me and WAW will be there. Meeting my mate Baz from Bolt Thrower who is big rent dodger fan. Unfortunately I am driving but I am sure WAW will carry on the tradition of out drinking Baz and his rent dodger mates. I predict a defeat, only on basis that even though I been to a fair few away matches I have seen a couple of draws and several defeats. I was going to Fleetwood but last minute family stuff prevented me. And we won. If Bradshaw is fit we will win.

It's definitely winnable and I think the player's will want to avenge the 5-1 last time we played there coventry are all over the place losing to Worcester City at home proper rocked them and I can see them battling relegation all season.
Walsall 3 Rent dodgers 1
Att:9,700. 1000 saddlers.

I'm driving too. Unlike last week this should mean therefore, that when watching any subsequent highlights it isn't all news to me.
1-0 to us. Dave Bamber to net against his old club and refuse to celebrate.

Has anyone been there before ?
It's my first time.
Where do you park ?
I see they want £10 to park your car on stadium car park - Rob-dogs, and to add to it - they have a 2km no street parking around the stadium ..
Jeeez...

There are a variety of private car parks around the stadium, there is a bit of hike to the ground though. There is also a retail park if you want to risk a clamping.

Nice 2-1 win in front of 1200 rather vocal Saddlers, We found a car park through ricoh arena parking for £2.50, 10 min walk from ground, called "christ the king" car park, Enter car details online and print out the ticket.

We've sold out our initial allocation whatever that was and it's now pay on the gate with no price increase, should be a good following.

I went to the Worcester FA Cup game at the Ricoh a couple of weeks ago, parked at Tescos and seem to have got away with it but may be luck of the draw!!
Coventry looked very poor and should be there for the taking 2-0 to the saddlers, Sawyers and Bax to score

Very kind offer thanks mate and maybe we could link up in the future.
This time though I've got a car full of family, one of whom will be coming to the match with me, the rest will be off to the German/craft market thingy in Brum.
So thanks, and like I say we should link up in the future as I'm pretty close to the end of the M58 which makes Wigan very easy to get to. i'll look out for you on Saturday and pop over and say hello if I see you and Blazing.

0-7. Big bazz stylee.
Failing that, as ever, I'm picking a gnarly game with a late winner from whoever gets out of the blocks at half time. Us, then.

I'm afraid I can't attend but will rely on facts, figures and statistics for my analysis of SMITHOUT's managerial performance. Look forward to a massive change in approach and tactics to this match resulting in an entertaining game and a comprehensive win :D
Miserable, fawning and tearful SMITHIN fans are welcome to post their excuses, opinions and comments as always

Re: Coventry City (A) League One, 29th Nov, 3.00pm
Starting odds.... Both sides equal to win, at 13/8, with the draw at 2/1
Early goal down in Somerset,.... Yeovil Town 0 Preston North End 1
...and MK Dons 1 Colchester United 0
...and Gillingham 0 Port Vale 1 (which pushes us down a place, to 15th)
(EDIT.... Gillingham have now equalised, so the League table is back to where you were !!)
Meanwhile, back at the Ricoh....after 20 minutes the statistics say we've had 3 goal attempts (none on target) and a corner, against Coventry's nil and nil. Possession is allegedly 72% Walsall, 28% Coventry !!
.... Rochdale 0 Oldham Athletic 1

Hopefully carrying on where they left off at Fleetwood, 'shots on goal' Eh? Have to look that up in the dictionary, not a phrase we've ever heard before! :) :)

More goals elsewhere.... Crewe Alex 1 Doncaster 0
Barnsley 1 Scunners 0 (EDIT... Scunthorpe have equalised a minute later....as you were !!)
MK Dons now 2-0 against Colchester United
... and Bradford City 1 Leyton Orient 0
On the stroke of half-time, we have Barnsley 1 Scunthorpe United 2 (we therefore go up to 13th place)
(Correction, we're still 14th, because Bradford are 1-0 against the Orient - sorry)
Half-time at the Ricoh, and it's 0-0.

Gillingham 2 Port Vale 1 latest.
All 7 of our goal attempts have come from Sawyers, Baxendale, Cook and Cain. Wonder what Grimes is doing??
EDIT... 2 minutes after I wrote that, Grimes was substituted - Forde on for Grimes :D
MK Dons now 5-0 against Colchester (who are down to 10 men)
Attendance 8,076 by the way...... (at the Ricoh)

After having about 70 percent possession in the first half it is now 50 percent. Have we had a touch in this half yet?
