A foul on Flanagan in the 8th minute, earned Walsall a penalty, which Clifford duly converted. When Murphy was tripped, 14 minutes later, Morris took over the penalty duty but hit his shot too close to the keeper, who saved down to his right. Morris made up for it, a minute later, by cracking home a great goal from the edge of the penalty-area. The super Saddlers should have had two more penalties in the opening half-hour as the Shrews' back-line clearly had problems dealing with the pace of the Walsall forwards. In the second half, Flanagan punished some untidy Shrewsbury defending, in the 76th minute, when he coolly slotted the ball home. Substitute Shakespeare was injured in the incident and had to go off, injured, even though he had only been on the field for quarter-of-an-hour. As Walsall had already used three substitutes, this meant that they had to play out the remaining 14 minutes plus stoppage time with 10 men. Remarkably, this saw them get well on top and totally control the game!

All-in-all, a very entertaining game with some good performances. It's just a pity that the first team couldn't do the same, last week!

Thanks for the report. Looks like an impressive win against a much more experienced Shrewsbury team. Well done the youngsters.

Tevin Shakespeare - any relation to Craig?
And 442 - are we deviating from the "DNA"?

As Tevin is black and Craig is white, I think that it is unlikely!
