Shrewsbury (A) FA Cup First Round Replay 18/11/14 K.O- 7:45

Mon Nov 17, 2014 7:24 pm

So baaaack to Greenhous Meadow where the sheep roam freely in their homeland.

We ourselves come into this on the baaaack of some fine performances and will hope to more than just fleece this.

However, Super Tom remains a doubt and his chances of starting are wooly to say the least.

I hope, like last season that the atmosphere and baaanter in our pen will be good. As for the Shrews, their record for the last six games is:

4 wins
1 draw (against us)
1 loss (against Chelski)

I hope we can pull the wool over their eyes and win this, but it will be a close shave.

I'll get my (sheepskin) coat  :D

Exact same team as Saturday, no Mantom/Bradshaw in the squad. Mantom is a big worry.

Sounds like Mick Kearns isn't likely to be setting up a 'Manset Appreciation Society' any time soon.

Defensively solid, inept going forward.

Don't worry the same rhetoric will be spouted as it has been the last 2 years 'the goals will come'

Hardly a surprise. Away at a team full of momentum/confidence who would be better in league 1 right now than they were in the previous 2 years they actually spent here. Poorish away form this season. We have Mantom and Bradshaw missing, it's a cold November Tuesday night and to be honest - profesisonal or not, I'd struggle to get motivated to work my absolute sack off to be rewarded with Preston away on a cold December Saturday! We've also played 4 games in 10 days. Surprised Smith didn't bring back Baxendale/Clifford/O'Connor etc tonight.

1-0 down. 'Long range strike' according to our Twitter feed, they also commented neither keeper had really been tested coming up to half time. We only seem to concede goals from distance.

Judging by the first half performance we have a mountain to climb to get back in this game.

That wasn't my point, however - a defeat tonight is no surprise at all. Would I rather go through tonight, or beat Tranmere in the JPT? Definetely the latter, at this point of the relative competitions.

Unfortunately, if we go out tonight, it doesn't mean we'll beat Tranmere.

Grimes on for Manset & Baxendale on for Sawyers.
Has Salian taken over as manager?

700 + Saddlers, not bad at all. Sounds like they deserve much, much better.

Edit - although we have had more shots on target - 2-1 - than the Sloppies so far.

Over the top of the ball challenge according to Twitter, probably sightly mis-timed. It'l be no malice with Chambers.

Onwards to the JPT.
