Peterborough United (H) League One Nov 15th, 3pm
In amongst the current plethora of cup games it's important to remember that we still have a League programme, and a visit from the Posh will be our latest test. They were last here exactly a year ago when goals from Lalkovic and Sawyers featured in a 2-0 result which saw us on the fringes of the play-offs.
Peterborough are currently 7th in the table on 26 points (the same as Sheffield United), but their goalscoring potential hasn't been helped by Assombalonga's move to Nottingham Forest, nevertheless Washington, Maddison and Vassell have notched 6, 5 and 5 goals respectively. Their current form is not outstanding.......
11 Oct Crawley (A) Won 1-4
18 Oct Barnsley (H) Won 2-1
21 Oct Crewe Alexandra (A) Lost 1-0
25 Oct Coventry City (A) Lost 3-2
1 Nov Scunthorpe United (H) Lost 1-2
8 Nov Carlisle United (H) F.A.Cup Won 2-1
The level of manager Darren Ferguson's concern on the goalscoring front is apparent - Bradford City have been approached by Peterborough to take Posh's ex-striker Aaron Mclean on a loan deal, but it doesn't look likely to succeed as there are a couple of League 2 clubs already outbidding Peterborough in the financial arrangements.
Peterborough started the season like an express train, winning five of their first six League games (including three away wins in August alone) but have fallen away. Long term injuries (Maddison, Baldwin) haven't helped, and neither has Spurs' recall of McEvoy who was on a season-long loan. I think we can seriously hope for a repeat of last season's 2-0 scoreline, with Cook and Sawyers netting. I haven't chosen Bradshaw as a scorer, I have the feeling that he might be kept back for treatment to his troublesome hamstring, and maybe brought back to demolish the Sloppies......... :D

A repeat of last season's marmelisation of the Posh would be welcome. It was nice of Ferguson to say last year that we were "better in every position" - but that was last year. I still think we have enough at home to see them off...

If we can win tomorrow then we're cooking and I think we have enough to see off the Posh.
Mostly because we're extremely strong at the back.
Walsall 2 - 0 Posh
Cook
Grimes (that's right)
Att: 4,581 (703 from London Road).

This should be a nailed on home win, posh away form since their 4-1 win at Crawley(where we also should have scored at hat full) is not impressive.Would like to see Bradshaw rested and play Grimes in the position he was signed for, may see a different player then

A 1-1 draw, in front of 4,305, including 612 from Posh.

Should be a decent gate with offers on from local schools we got four tickets for a tenner, two adults  and two kids, should do this more often. By the way it's my first match in nearly two years, I've been tempted out of my armchair.

0-0 because I can't see where else a goal will come from when Bradshaw is injured and Sawyers has already scored his quota this week.
Grimes to do an interpretive dance at half time called 'Essence of Barry Fry.'
He will nail the final landing as he's such a brilliant finisher.

Either 3-0 to us or 3-0 to them. You never know what Posh will turn up on any given day.
I'll go a win for us and Grimes not to score.

If Bradshaw is fit, 2-1 win.
If not 1-1 at best I fear.
I don't think Posh are that great nowadays although they still have this great knack of signing non league players who develop into 20 goal a season players. Although that Maddison they signed from Gateshead is injured for the game.

As quite impressive Manset was on Wednesday he's been as equally dreadful this half. No movement, no desire to find space and not on the same wave length as his teammates.

If Walsall were to win today wouldn't that be the first time Dean Smith has 3 league games in a row?
If we don't win, I put that down to not having Grimes and Manset playing together as central strikers.....
One man = one goal or none
Get Baxendale behind Manset & Grimes.....the attacking reverse triangle formation......will cure all Walsall's goal drought issues (I think)....as long the players run off the ball and pass early.

Substitution, Walsall. Ashley Grimes replaces Mathieu Manset. Can he prove his manager correct? with 10 mins to go.
