Nice to know he's still alive.
I miss his poetic ramblings about away games at Chesterfield and his fondness for real clubs like Exeter City etc.
I'd also like to know if he thinks the Premier League is the reason behind everything bad in the world.
2,500 of our own - it's time to resign from the League and give up.

2100 of our own fans on a Saturday at 3pm local derby is a disgrace. Dean smiths post match interview when he finished with we look forward to the game on Wednesday" I hope our supporters turn up " sums up what he thinks of it.
We will still get 15k turn up if we get to Wembley very strange people come from Walsall.

3,546 - 1,217 = 2,329. Not very good, but take a look at attendances at Yeovil, Oldham and Crewe yesterday and you will see that many at our level were poor. Yes, it was a 'local derby' for us, but attendances for these games have fluctuated significantly over the years. If you look at statistics for matches against Salop in the 70's and 80's you will find that crowds were often no more than the 'norm' for that season. Occasionally they were better [1977/78, 8,341] but they were just as likely to be below average [1973/74, 3,037].

A few years ago we would have got a better crowd than we did yesterday for reasons which have more to do with the decreasing enthusiasm for Cup competitions than they do with the general apathy or otherwise of people in Walsall.

I think we will struggle to get 2k (total) through the gates on Wednesday

Some Strawberry fans actually think their goal from the free kick was planned.

I thought exactly the same when i saw it on tv, it looked like a training routine which nine times out of ten doesn't come off.

I think the runner was supposed to screen the low shot, it hit him instead the jammy bell piece.

Mind you, that Downing shot was going out for a throw in before it hit Bradshaw.

It all evened out in the end :D

Here is the save, looked a lot better in real time. He kept us in it though when they were building up pressure.

If anyone overseas - or in the UK - wants to watch the BBC2 FA Cup highlights (including the 30 seconds of Saddlers above), they're here:

Our support is embarrassing. Those who go have my respect those who don't don't. Back in the day we would of taken over a thousand to scum away for replay. Ffs wake up people of Walsall. Our pathetic support means we get the team our support deserves. This club I love is dying a slow death thanks to Bonser and the apathy he has created. With the way the ownership is structured I can't see any way things will get better. Went out with an old mate of mine who went home and away for years and he explained why he doesn't go anymore. It hit home. I will continue going cos I don't agree with his point of view. For me going to matches has now become a reason to see mates. I try not to think of wider picture
