Possession figures now (allegedly) 62% Oldham, 38% Walsall. What is going on??????

Andy Butler booked, 38 min :(

Edit: Sheffield United 0 Leyton Orient 1, which puts us back down to 16th, where we started today!!

I'll gladly take that at full-time, when you consider we are without Taylor, Mantom, Sawyers and Bradshaw.

If Smith thinks Grimes is a league one footballer he's gone mental. Terrible performance. Barely touched the ball. Clifford and Chambers pathetic, dominated and chasing shadows. Let's not get started on Benning. Grimes version of tracking back! Manset on and royal rocket up the arse or this will be a hammering.

Butler is booked and has lost his cool. Give me a point now.

Does'nt sound like midfield is getting a kick (goal came when we bypassed midfield).

Changes needed?

Two more Oldham corners in the first 5 minutes of the second half. We'm under the cosh, it would appear.

Grimes off Manset on. And Ibehre on for them in place of Wilkinson.

Stats suggest we are getting tatored. Probably go on to win it (says he optimistically) :)

Looks like weem well under the cosh!
I would love us to hold on for a point, but it's looking doubtful, looking at the beeb report it looks like we've hardly been out of our own half since the kick off, with shots reining in, and corners aplenty, keep 'em out me babbies!!!

We were always going to struggle with that starting line up, and a point would be a great result under the circumstances. I never have been entirely convinced that our 'squad' is as strong as some on here suggest. That said, any side in this division would miss [arguably] their best four outfield players.

If I was watching it, I'm sure I'd be feeling as frustrated as you. Agree about Grimes - 0 goals in 18 matches with Bury prior to his signing says it all.

Let's hope we can hang on in there...

Watch out though, Oldham have put top scorer Forte on...... :(

2-1 Oldham.... it had to happen after all that pressure....

So now we are joint 3rd from bottom. When you have all finished tossing your selves off to Dean Smiths shexxy style of play maybe you can all realise that we have lost to another crap team, enough is enough.
The Manager cannot manage a team of players that cannot play, he couldn't manage a team of players that could for gods sake.
12 games played and only 12 points on the board, joke ! A goal difference of minus 2 to go with it

Sorry Dean but you are not the man to lead my beloved Walsall FC.

Go now please !

Listening to the commentary it sounds like we sat back again and invited the pressure. No change there then! I'm convinced we set our stall out for a draw every time, sometimes we excell and win but most times we crack and lose. Deano is such a negative manager  Even WM commented when we went behind that we'll have to come out and play now.

Sounds bad. But you look at that starting line up and it was always going to be a struggle. Quite what Smith sees in Grimes and O'Connor is beyond me. Grimes is a coward both in the shirking challenges sense and shirking responsibility on the ball sense. My lad reads the game better than O'Connor. How Purkiss, Chambers and Manset lost their places after their performances in the week is a bit of a joke. I think Smith has found Merson's old random team generating machine buried in the vaults at the Bescot and has decided to give it a whirl.

Not really surprised, and predicted as such. Without key players we are far too lightweight and it is clear there is not sufficient back-up, particularly in midfield. Oldham are a decent and forceful side and that starting line up was just not good enough, simple as that. The best squad we've had for a while? I don't think so.

It's the biggest squad we've had for a while.

Too many changes today though I feel.

Not enough changes before now there's too many changes! Give me strength!

To be fair we did sound bad today until we were losing and went for it.

Wm commented on what a good side Oldham are, so please, lets not have the usual tiresome overreaction.
