Are you actually at the game and can see / say that he is directly at fault for both the goals?

Unlikely.

Holden played well on Saturday and deserves his chance.

It's been clear to most of us that we needed to replace Butler over the summer and sign a decent goalscorer. We definitely haven't replaced Butler; and we need to see whether Bradshaw can solve the goalscoring problem. I think our season rests on whether Watford sell Deeney!

Bakayoko on for Sawyers, for the final 10min or so.

This just seems like a continuation from last year, but the big difference is we don`t have Butler to help prevent goals being scored against us.

No I'm not, and as I said 'I don't care if he's at fault or not' - a defence with him in will concede goals. Couldn't make the game tonight but reading Twitter before it stunk of a close dismal defeat, it's what we do against Yeovil at home. Smith needs a strong think, he could also use some luck in the injury department. That doesn't deny the fact that, we need a centre back or Chambers fit. O'Connor is a sick note and has been for years. Benning has the legs but isn't traditional enough to be a winger, grimes isn't a winger either. Sawyers is out of form but we are so narrow that every single move goes through him.

1 centre back
2 wingers
1 bustling powerful centre forward
Cook, Mantom, Purkiss, O'Connor fit.

Until then or they happen in some combination, we will be in the bottom 8.

Poor result and it's looking like the same old problems remain. Is Smith capable of solving them? I guess we'll find out soon.

Sawyers must have been playing badly if Deano actually took him off!

Not a great result that but seen as Yeovil were in the Championship last season I'm not desolate. Bring on Leyton. UTS!

Abysmal start, we aim for the stars and start from the bottom....again. :(
Pretty embarrassing I would say........relegation scrap this year if we don't learn to score, it might be a reasonable squad on paper, but paper is rubbish at hiding our failures in front of goal. :?

Fair play to Bradshaw though. Two goals so far for him. Anybody else which to chip in and help?

Really bad start for sure and puts u under enormous pressure when uve got one point from 2 home games

Don't buy smith s comments it's his strongest ever squad. We have no centre half to replace butler

If u keep playing Holden.........

Could copy and paste most of my match comments from home games last year.

Granted, this was my first game of the season, but its easy enough to see we've actually got a weaker squad than we did this time last year.

1) for a team that effectively plays 4 attacking players, 2 goals in 3 games is atrocious
2) when Andy Taylor and Mal Benning (two left backs) are your main attacking threats, you know you're in trouble

I really fear for this season, Forde, Grimes, Bradshaw - are they as good as Lalkovic, Brandy, Westcarr? Dont think so.

With crap players in those inside forward positions, and Sawyers almost permanently on an off-day nowadays, it's like playing 4-5-1 at home. No wonder we score so little.

Lets hope the next 2 weeks brings a couple of decent signings, cos so far, we've gone backwards (again).

Theres a reason he never got near the team last season. He aint good enough. When he played the season before, he lasted about 5 games before Downing replaced him, he's error prone.

If you change nothing... nothing changes.

Smith's too stubborn with this 4-5-1/4-2-3-1... it's ok with decent players like Grigg, Pato, Brandy... but with Grimes, Bradshaw and Benning ... well, do I need to finish that sentence?

A very disappointing defeat, to say the least. The fact Yeovil have started the campaign poorly - with practically a new team - and would probably have been happy with a point makes it all the more so.

Two decent points against Port Fail and Bradford now look like a wasted opportunity. Our home form is still miserable, and if we include the latter part of last season we have now won only one league game at home in 13 attempts, scoring 8 goals. It's not really good enough, is it?

I look forward to hearing reports of tonight's match from those that were there.

just got back from the match.
my god my decision not to partake in a season ticket was ell justified.
a very very poor Walsall squad even worse than last season with no ideas no plan b
don't think the goalie had 1 save to make all night as the goal was awful.
even the pretyy tippy tappy footy is boring to watch as you know theres going to be no end product.
Ashley grimes Is not the answer he looks at best a non league striker.
going to be a long hard season with very little for the fans to cheer if smith doesn't sort this team out and add some goals to it.
one more gripe I arrived at ground at 7.25 to ne greeted with massive queue at ticket office and then a queue to get in at turnstyles. was 7.50 when I eventually got in. poor organistion for a tues night low level attendance game god help them if it was a big match

I was there. Players simply not good enough
Good players left. Far inferior ones bought in
Smith needs 2 sign at least 2 PROVEN players at this level
One definitely being a centre half. The other a striker

I don't buy this whole "we need a striker" mentality that I am hearing on WM. Sure, we need someone else who can play up front that can bring us something different, but as for strikers I really think we have unearthed a good one here in Bradshaw as he looks bloody excellent. Do you know what the problem is?

The three behind him, and to me, one of Dean Smiths biggest fans mind you, this three has problems because of him. Grimes, Deano said he is one of the best finishers he has ever seen, and to be honest I really rate him. He has quick feet, a good shot, a great touch and a really good passing rage but most importantly he is a quick thinker and doer. You will hardly see him dally on the ball, taking his time and being slow on the ball, he moves it quickly and effectively... but there is only one problem, he plays in behind the striker in the number 10 role. This means that he gets the Baxendale treatment and is shoehorned off to the wing where he is fractionally as effective than if they were playing in behind, all because ever since he has been brought in, Dean Smith seems forever intent on playing Sawyers no matter what. Sawyers is a brilliant player and will absolutely run a game... when he is on form, however this form comes along once every 10 games. But Dean Smith still plays him when he isn't on form just in case he does play well. I like him, I hated it and had my head in my hands when idiotic and childish fans cheered when he came off, but for fudge sake drop him. Have you ever noticed a continual factor during our last season and a bit where we have struggled REALLY BADLY to score goals... it's Sawyers.

I don't know what Sawyers brings that Grimes, or even Baxendale, doesn't. Good players wasted and shoehorned into other positions, all for him.

Play wingers on the wing. Play "number 10's" in the number 10 position. Play strikers up front. Drop Sawyers, even just for a bit.

Poor performance. Don't understand why we resorted to hoofball in the second half
