Blimey, what was their goalie trying to do with Morris's shot? Good effort on our part but woeful goalkeeping.

Few thoughts from last night
1.) Southend have the fattest physio ever
2.) Fish Shop fish and chips rock
3.) The away end "restaurant" won't be getting a Michelin star any time soon
4.) The away end turnstiles can't count (more than 153)
5.) The BBC can't count (34 shots??)
6.) Taylor a more effective ball boy than the actual ball boy
7.) O'Donnell kept us in it
8.) O'Connor seemed to be out of position a lot
9.) Clifford looks like a great signing
10.) No extra time meant more post game pints thanks kieran

O'Connor needs some protection, I just hope that doesn't mean Smith will resort to Baxendale on the wing because he gets up and down well. I suspect Forde may end up playing wide right, cutting in and Grimes will either be benched, or play instead of Bradshaw. A good winger is going to expose that right hand side. Don't be surprised to see Hanson target O'Connor, Pope did it on Saturday.

Pleased to see two youngsters score. Whilst the keeper should have saved it, Morris had a shot and scored. The old saying goes "dont buy a ticket you cant win the raffle". Midfielders take note.
Bennings goal came from a cross too, did we even score of a cross last season? :P
Phil Brown was very complimentary of us after the game too, always nice to hear other managers praise us.
Fancy Newcastle at home in the next round.
Do you think the authorities could contrive to draw us away against Melbourne City? That way I might be able to get along and watch.

Inadvertent double meaning there, that's why he has had to 'move on' from so many of his clubs!
It's said he has considerable 'trouser problems' (can't keep 'em on! )
Well done lads, it appears we have 'ground out' a win despite the opposition being the better side, reminds me a little of 'Money' days. Perhaps this season may not be the disaster most of us thought it would be? :)

Only a few of you think this season is going to be a disaster. Most of us are looking forward to it!
