Reserves v. Shrewsbury Town 1/4/14

Tue Apr 01, 2014 3:41 pm

Walsall 2-0 Shrewsbury Town

Super Saddlers (Pride of the Midlands :D )

Richard Jones

Jamie Ashmore (Alex Dallison - 74 min.)
Ben George
Aris Christopherou
Malvind Benning

Wes Rush (Alex Reid - 66 min.)
Nicky Featherstone
Jake Heath
Carlton McKenzie

Troy Hewitt (Amadou Bakayoko - 74 min.)
Kieron Morris

Unused Substitute
Rhys Lovett (gk)

Manager:- Richard O'Kelly (assisted by Dean Holden)

Goal Log
37th min. - 1-0 - cracking shot from just outside the penalty-area from Jake Heath.
75th min. - 2-0 - Kieron Morris brought down in the penalty-area and then gets up to convert the resulting penalty-kick.

The younger Saddlers emulated the first team with a comfortable win over the Sloppies. Apart from a few runs from left-winger, Josh Ginnelly, the visitors rarely threatened. The question on the lips of most Saddlers fans, of course, is "Who will replace the suspended Westcarr?". As ever, Hewitt ran around and pressured the Sloppies back line but only looked like scoring once. His replacement for the last quarter-of-an-hour, Bakayoko, looked more threatening. He got two shots away, both on target. Morris had a steady game without really catching the eye but took his penalty well.

Do we assume the absence of Ngoo altogether means he's most likely to start on Saturday? It's anyone's guess really, isn't it?!
