Shrewsbury Town (H) League One, 29 Mar 3pm
It's local derby time again as the Salopians come to town. With only 7 games left to play this season they are seriously flirting with relegation as they occupy bottom-but-two position with 38 points. Their season-long problem appears to be a lack of scoring goals (sound familiar?), and they've only scored 36 goals from their 39 games. Of their three leading goalscorers only one is a forward (Bradshaw) and he's managed 5 goals. The Shrews' current form:
8 Mar Bristol City (H) Lost 2-3
11 Mar Crawley (H) Drew 1-1
15 Mar Wolverhampton Wanderers (A) Drew 0-0
18 Mar Colchester United (A) Lost 1-0
22 Mar Bradford City (H) Won 2-1
25 Mar Carlisle United (A) Drew 0-0
The danger men would appear to be Tom Eaves and recently-signed striker Shaun Miller, who came off the bench and scored the winner against Bradford (who had gone into the lead with only 10 minutes to go!!). Shrewsbury's away form shows only 3 wins in League One (at Stevenage, Notts County and Oldham), although coming away from the Custard Factory with a 0-0 is not to be sniffed at. One small mercy may be their choice of goalkeeper - the guy who played such a blinder against us in the televised game last season (Weale) currently occupies the bench.
As we seem to be a bit of a bogey team for them currently I will stick my neck out and go for a similar scoreline to our F.A.Cup fixture, a 3-0 home win  with Brandy, Sawyers and Lalkovic on target.

3 - 1 to us. Westcarr, Mantom and Brandy. Their consolation goal to be deflected shot off Downing.
Look out for Ryan Woods. Someone we should be considering for next season. Only 22 and can play defence or midfield. He will want rescuing when the Sloppies go down.

I have my doubts - due to the terrible home form and the fact they are fighting relegation - but I'm going for a 2-0 win, with Westcarr and Brandy for us, in front of 4,706 including 985 away.

It isn't often you see Walsall publicly quoted as odds-on favourites to win, but Sky's ante-post odds for today's game go like this:
Walsall to win............... 5/6
The draw.................... 9/4
Shrewsbury to win......... 18/5

Swindon Town 1 Sheffield United 0 (which pushes us back down a bit, to 8th place)
39min Westcarr left-foot shot hits the post
Half-time, and we're leading 1-0. Persevere with Plan A, or what? :D
Oh, and Tamika Mkandawire shown the yellow card for a foul on Sawyers, 44 min.

Unfortunately, since we scored we've played half arsed as if the game is over.

Attendance 4,222, including 503 from Shrewsbury.
About expected for us, but a truly terrible turnout for them.

Another yellow card for Shrewsbury (Iorfa)
It gets better..... Shrewsbury down to 10 men after Mills (defender) is shown a straight red card.

The way this season is going the sending off will galvanise the Shrews into a better performance. :(
