Wolverhampton Wanderers (H) League One 8 Mar, 3pm
Saturday sees us hosting what might be called "The Dingles' Cup Final", and it's already been pointed out on another thread that the current League One form table has Wolves firmly at the top with us just as firmly rooted at the bottom. As football has rightly been described as "a funny old game" it's quite possible that we will overturn the form book and trounce our neighbours, but somehow I doubt it. Wolves' most recent six League One games:
25 Jan Bristol City (H) Won 3-1
28 Jan Oldham Athletic (A) Won 0-3
1 Feb Bradford City (H) Won 2-0
15 Feb Notts County (H) Won 2-0
22 Feb Brentford (A) Won 0-3
1 Mar Port Vale (H) Won 3-0
That's 14 goals scored in the last six games, with just 1 conceded. In our last six games we've scored 4 and conceded 10. Although they've had the occasional slip-up, Wolves sit top of the League table, level on points (70) with Leyton Orient but with 2 games in hand. They've also got a thumping goal difference of +37.
In spite of the normally optimistic outlook of this Walsall supporter, I can't see us winning this one. We've lost the only in-form outfield player (Mantom), and I can only hope that Andy Taylor is fully match fit for inclusion on Saturday - he could help tighten what has become a leaky defence, and maybe we could get away with hanging on for a 0-0 draw.

For me, things have to change in the starting line up, give other players chancers instead of pushing the same team over and over again until they eventually perform.
For me, the line up would be. (4231)
O'Donnell
Chambers Downing Butler Taylor
Brandy Featherstone Chambers Westcarr
Baxendale
Ngoo
Risky, especially with Ngoo up top, but I am desperate to see Baxo back in his best position.

I agree. Except I would put Hemmings in for Westcarr and Lalkovic in for Ngoo. Westcarr was too pedestrian last night and made it so easy for the central defenders to break up the attack. With Hemmings, Brandy and Lalkovic whizzing about the box it will create space for Baxendale as the defenders will be pulled all over the place. Also being central will make Lalkovic run towards the penalty area rather than parallel to it - which he does when on the wing. Fair chance of getting some penalties too. Westcarr and Ngoo can be Plan B. It will make our attacking front line look like a schoolboy team but it would be exciting to watch!

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers (H) League One 8 Mar, 3pm
The fact Wolves are 11/10 to win this game at ladbrokes is an insane price. I'd suggest all of you head down and reduce the depression slightly ahead of 5pm tommorrow.
Dicko anytime and 5-0 is 80/1 which is staggering in itself.
I'd go.

Taylor
Hemmings

Lalkovic

Ngoo
Playing Brandy centrally, with his pace but the protection of a midfield 4 behind him is something we haven't, but should of tried a long time ago. The amount of fouls he could earn 30 yards out central to the goal SHOULD be staggering. The way things are going for us at the moment, he'd be sent off for diving after 6 minutes.

We won't play four across midfield against Wolves - no chance. Things will be tough enough as it is, without sacrificing an extra man in the middle.
I wonder whether it's time to give Baxendale a game in the middle. Sawyers seems to have faded a little and may find himself a passenger for large spells tomorrow if he plays. Baxendale could give us a bit more balance.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers (H) League One 8 Mar, 3pm
I am looking forward and dreading this at the same time.
I have a few associates who are dingles, all but one seem not to understand what an achievement it us for us to still be in touching distance with the top six.
They also fail to understand that £3m is ALOT of money in this league, if DS had that to spend I'd expect to be top.
I would like to see a bit of a mix up personally, in terms of team selection;
ROD
J Chambers
Downing
Butler
Taylor (if fit enough)
Westcarr
A Chambers
Featherstone
Hemmings
Baxendale (mainly for his industry)
Lalkovic
The lack of height would surely force us to play it on the ground, I would also tell the whole team to shoot on sight unless there is an obvious pass that would put us in a better position.

An amazing lack of posts ahead of such a cup final for the Dingles........all my family are big Dingle fans (I too was born, bred, raised and educated in Dinghlehampton but saw the light some 53 years ago!). some large betting amounts are being placed for scores of 0-3, 0-4 & 0-5! so I'm told, with the Nil deffo not for the team in custard!
Though unluckily I'm 'hiding' here ooooop North, it may be cringingly squeaky bum time for home fans, but lets not give up hope that a miracle might happen......perhaps the Dingle teams bus might get lost on the long journey, a sink hole appears in the middle of the pitch, martians land, an earthquake perhaps? All in all it HAS to be one of the safest away win bets of the year.....so I'll go for another 1-0 win for the Saddlers, Butler to muscle his way to a scrambled goal in the dying seconds of a monumental rearguard action during the previous 90 minutes, to do the double over our fiercest rivals!
We can but dream, come on me babbies, lets turn the tables on these obnoxiously wealthy, overbearing neighbours of ours..... :D

Fackin come on.... this game reminds me of this.
1-1. Romain with the most laid back finish you've ever seen and then a load of posts about how slow and weak he is for a black person.

The last few games have lessened the attraction of this game. I fear we'll get 'ommered like we did last time at home to them, but the entertainment will be when they celebrate the goals in our end.
I look forward to the appearance of the West Midlands Police architectural aluminium wall.

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day!
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me

Lone Dingle spotted at MK train station just after 10 this morning.
Seemed to be confused by the 2 cash machines that were out of order but still attempted to use both before heading over to the ticket office.
Currently in the Napier on 6th pint of mild warming up for the game.
Let's hope the team of earlier this season turns up and we take the 3 points!!

I don't need to post on this board much these days...as it seems many have woken up and started to write things more in accordance with reality.
"Walsall striker Romaine Sawyers looking for league double over Wolves" (Express and Star)..... that tells me 0-4 then (Somebody: "Referee let us down....It just wouldn't go in.....on our two goal attempts in the match)

Odds quoted by SkyBet before kick-off:
Walsall 13/5
The Draw 11/5
Wolves 21/20
(I'm just surprised Wolves aren't odds-on.....)
Elsewhere (not League One) - Baggies 0 ManUre 3 final score. Baggies now looking very nervously at relegation.
