It was a great ball - perfectly weighted, and showed that there's a difference between an aimless big boot (Shrewsbury's back four) and a well-weighted pass.

The best thing about our current crop is that most of them, Downing included, will only get a lot better with time. He's already more than capable at League One level.

Cheers magic man, as for the pitch it looks a lot better than it did this time last year, granted the amount of games on it has been less and hopefully the snow stays away, shaping up to be a really good Xmas period for us, just need a couple more positive results to build on our last couple of games, UTS

As with last season Smith has had to try to get too many key players to gel, which takes time. It's starting to happen again now, and they are individually improving, and also as a team.

Difference is, this season, we're withing touching distance of the top 6 with some good fixtures coming up for us, and the teams above us are playing each other over the next few weeks.

Add to that we've played most of the top teams away already and the signs are good.

We just need Kevin Phillips to top it off now.

Richard O'Donnell's distribution is top notch, myself and FBIG were trying to remember a keeper in our time supporting the club with better distribution than him. Any ideas?[/quote]

Looking at the stats for last year at this time we had only kept 4 clean sheets in the League, this year we have 8 in the League and 1 in the Ciup so he aint doing bad at all. :D
