We would be 4/5-0 up if we had a decent strike force, Bonser, get your fudge cheque book out you cheap son of a bitch and give this team the strikeforce we deserve!

Should be 5-0.

Who cares, we are absolutely ace. Had to battle tonight and played good football a long with it.

I think we just have to accept we wont get a striker, how are you gonna drop any of those players? You would be an absolute fool to drop Westcarr. He is on course to score 15 goals anyway!

Right, I've just watched that and I'll tell you what it is.

For a start we do not specifically need a striker.
It would be nice, but we do not need one as urgently as many think.
Remember, Franksy says we need a 20-goal striker - and he's a total bell-end.

Having started with two up front made all the difference.
The only reason we've failed to win more matches is by not being assertive enough in our formations.

Westcarr looked a little out of sorts again - and yes the keeper saved his 1-on-1 but there were a few of those to be fair.
He was again working hard against 1.5 centre backs, which is an improvement on the usual two.
That 20 goal striker is half way there in the middle of November.

Sawyers looks like the missing link in the chain on tonight's evidence.
His touch and intelligence make him look a class act, the way he combines with Baxendale is sublime at times.

On other matters, don't let Hemmings take another penalty - perhaps Andy Taylor being a dead ball specialist might have been better.

Overall, this is a terrific team and it's all credit to the management and players.
Great performance against promotion contenders yet again. :D

Well that was good. Should have been 4 or 5 at least. Missed penalty and Sawyers and Westcarr missing one on ones with the keeper. Still think we need to finish teams off a bit more but they don't come much better than Peterborough in this league so got to be happy. Onwards and upwards Saddlers!

Also I'm the first to criticise a ref so it's only fair to say that I don't think the guy put a foot wrong tonight.

Had to go out for a meeting. Came back in thoroughly expecting a 1-1 or 1-2 scoreline, and very happy to see a 2-0 win instead. Well done the lads! On telly too. Looks like that curse has been lifted!

I think we did a bad thing to Peterborough.

A terrific second half performance. That's now two wins and a draw against the top 3 [Leyton Orient, Wolves and Posh]. That must tell you something about the quality of our team.

A worthy Man of The Match for Lalkovic too, hopefully he can kick on from here and then stay for the rest of the season.

Impressed with a clean sheet against a team like Peterborough in fact there are only three teams with a better goals conceded record and that's after playing 10 of the top 12 teams.

That, my fellow earthlings was a tremendous team performance. Credit to all. To play a team like Posh totally off the park was a joy to watch.

We don't need a new striker, we've got plenty of talent. Anyone who disagrees with me knows fudge all about football!

If you can murder a team 2.0 then we murdered them.
Guy in the pub came up at the end to say how nice it was to see someone enjoying a match so much.

Fergie junior looked a tad shell shocked in his post match interview. All credit though he admitted that his team had been battered.

well, this is one happy Saddler in the south of Spain, having seen Peterborough made to look very ordinary. Darren Ferguson summed it up when he said that from 1 to 11 Walsall were the better side. I'm so full of Sanfria that I can't really give a proper summary.....just to say that we're nbw 7th in the table, one point from the play-offs.

We were brilliant but wasteful. Smith's tactics were superb yet again. We should have scored more, but I don't want to be too critical because the overall team performance was excellent. Huge debt of gratitude to WBA for Downing, Sawyers and Mantom. I doubt you'll find three better free transfer signings anywhere in the league.

I really don't want to blow my own trumpet but can people understand why I wanted Sawyers to play at home? 3 home games, 3 wins in a row, 2 cleansheets and 3 goals for the man himself. We also beat one of the top teams at home by attacking them! We shouldn't fear anyone when at home and on tonight's evidence, why should we? Sawyers is class - occasionally gives the ball away but his first touch and neat passes in tight positions really are something you'd see at a higher level. I was amazed how bad Posh were, when was the last time a team came and gave the ball away so easily and needlessly? We should have won the game 4 or 5 in the end.

The entire team was 8/9 out of 10 - apart from Westcarr who was useless and Bax who constantly gave the ball away and looked nervous and confidence lacking. Taylor was brillant, he's probably as good an outlet as anyone in the attacking areas of the team. Lalkovic seems to have hit some form finally, I did hope it may be like this from him. You can imagine him being a player that goes on runs of 5 goals in 5 and then 5 pub team performances. For the chances we missed, all Taylor had to do at the end was lay a simple 10 yard pass to his right at the end for an open goal.

All in all, a brillant performance. We still need a striker that converts his 1 and only chance as we need 25 shots to score 2 or 3. Defence were all superb, O'Donnell had nothing to do. Central midfielders hussled and harried like hell whilst keeping everything simply and easy. Lalkovic was tricky, direct and dangerous.

Got to be pleased with that terrific performance. :D Absolutely delighted. :D Excellent football. :D We absolutely marmelised them. :D They offered nothing and would have been flattered - no, won the donalding lottery - if one of their few pathetic chances had gone in.
However, I am still just a little bit worried. :( We had 24 attempts on goal, 11 on target, missed a penalty and ended up with 2 goals. I thought I counted 3 one-on-ones that we didn't convert.
That's not just wasteful, it's profligate. And it's worrying as we can't guarantee to have 24 attempts every game and to get 11 on target: at that rate, it's one goal for every 12 attempts and one for every 5.5 shots on target.
Don't get me wrong; a fantastic display and a 2 - 0 win is lovely, but we could easily have had 5 with more clinical finishing. Our strikers need an awful lot of shooting practice - or we need a good finisher. We should get into the playoffs on that display (taking nothing for granted).
One of the best features, aside from the absolutely silky football, was how solid our defence looked. :D
But the last thing we want is to rely on our defence too often.
Still, I don't want to be a curmudgeon - that was superb. I'll sleep well tonight. :D
Oh, and it was good to see Little Fergie giving Walsall full credit in the afters. Fair play to him.
