The silver lining may be that it could add to his value.

I used to like Brentford, but the way some of their fans have tried to justify their clubs tactics over the transfer price and subsequent tribunal has really got on my nerves.

Up The Saddlers.

Agreed!

And me. Used to have some empathy for them having to live under the shadow of self-proclaimed "Big Clubs" like Fulham and QPR. No more.

Reading Rosler's pre match comments I was a bit surprised to see him put our record of bringing young players through entirely down to our "close links with West Brom's Academy."

You could equally link it to our close links to Hereford or Doncaster or, er, our excellent youth set up. But obviously that wouldn't make it sound quite so much like good players had simplyfallen into our lap from lofty Premier League neighbours. Is he really that poorly informed?

In today's 16 will be four produced by the Boggies (Lewis/Downing/Mantom/Sawyers) and maybe two by our good selves (George/Benning). He has a point. And he wasn't meaning it as a criticism (although in the light of the upcoming tribunal it is easy to see it that way), but praising us for our ability to replace our three star forwards with another three if similar age and ilk without much trouble at all.

I find Rosler quite an affable German man, in the style of Henning Wehn or Marco Reich.

Rosler is ok but he's bound to try and have a knock at us. We're doing alot better with our resources than he is with there's.

Yes, it's there, in the Borough of Walsall,on the Birmingham Road, sandwiched between Aston University Sports Field and Handsworth Rugby Club.

Interesting. Perhaps they don't want to risk him scoring a hat-trick against us just before the tribunal!

Shocked that we haven't started with Sawyers, his ball retention could be perfect on the break as we are in for a long afternoon I think. This is Smith's first very questionable call for a while, so it'l be interesting to see whether it comes off or not. I don't think it helps that we don't have an out and out right winger. Baxendale, Westcarr and Sawyers ALL play in the hole when they are in their best position IMO.

Indeed, like Ikea Wednesbury, it is within the borders of Walsall - unlike our own training pitch!

Yep, I mentioned this last week. We are trying to put square pegs in to round holes to get all of our best players in the team. Baxendale is lost out wide, although he has still put in some decent performances and scored some cracking goals, he is better in the center. Westcarr and Sawyers both look more comfortable "in the hole" too.

Don't know about it being his first questionable call for a while, he did a great job of trying to lose us the game v Nott's County last week, by shifting our most dangerous player out wide, where he looked totally lost. Anyway, on we go.

Brentford substitution after 10 minutes - McEleny on for El Alagui.

Goals very scarce so far - Leyton Orient power back to top spot, taking a 1-0 lead over Crwho.

(Edit... Peterborough take the lead at Tranmere, pushing the Dingles back into the play-off zone)

Fixed that for you, they are much more accustomed to being there :)

Malvind Benning booked, 22 minutes.

According to the available stats, Brentford have had 2 shots (not on target) - we'v e had none.
No corners for anyone.

Sounds like a passing stalemate.....

Not good that Benning will be under pressure for the rest of the game now as a result of the early yellow card.
