Team Manager:- Neil Woods

The young Saddlers were dealt an early blow when first-choice skipper, Mat Preston, was injured in the tunnel when going out to warm up! He was replaced in defence by Dallison. County were clearly a physically stronger team in the opening stages but it was Walsall who took a 6th minute lead through new skipper Heath. The young Magpies were not to be denied and a soft goal from Malachi Lavelle-Moore put them deservedly back on level terms. After the interval, it was clear that Neil Woods had had strong words with his charges and Walsall dominated the second half. Poor defending by the visitors allowed Flanagan to restore Walsall's lead and it looked as if the Saddlers would wrap the game up when awarded a penalty in the 85th minute for a foul on Griffiths. However, Heath could only manage a weak kick which was parried by County custodian, Harry Andrews, and Heath then blazed the rebound high into the stand. County took full advantage of this let-off by equalising just two minutes later, again through Lavell-Moore. In extra time, Hobbis put Walsall ahead again in the 101st minute and County's misery was complete when a defender was sent off for two cautionable offences. In the second minute of stoppage time of the second half of extra time, Flanagan wrapped up the title with a super free-kick curled in at the far post.
