A typical end-of-season game, if I may be permitted to use use that well-worn cliché. Nothing exciting but the match was notable for the presence of the sons of four ex-pro footballers in the squads. Walsall's squad included the off-spring of Phil Hawker, Mark Kinsella and Andy Sinton while Tranmere fielded John Durnin's son, Oscar. The only goal came in the 90th minute - a real cracker from Aaron Williams. In the 22nd minute, Walsall had missed the chance to take the lead when Bowerman's tame penalty was easily saved by Sam Ramsbottom in the visitors' goal, after Jones had been sent flying in their penalty-area.

The match has, so far, gone unreported on the official Tranmere site.

The Reserves complete their fixtures with the Walsall Senior Cup Final v. Stafford Rangers next Wednesday 1st May. Don't miss this chance to see @taundz in action!

Penalties missed here and in the Midland Youth Cup.

Doesn't look like anyone's stepping up to take over Grigg's mantle...
