Stevenage down to 10 men and 1-0 down. All over, end of season.

Stevenage down to ten men. That could be it, I'm afraid. Flippin' Westley!

Dull match. For some reason we've decided to play the long ball today.

1-1. Can't even salvage some pride by beating Bury. What a disgrace. Smith out!

The late goal thing has reared it's ugly head once again.
Why do we concede so many?

Pretty pathetic if that is the case, considering most of the team is under 30.
Oh well lets have a nice day out in Crewe and hope for a Black Country derby next season!

Well if your happy with a 1-1 home draw against Bury who are relegated, then this just shows what little ambition you have as a supporter. After all, for all them players knew, Swindon could have been losing.

I understand the disappointment, it was a poor game, but to suggest 'smith out!' based on a dodgy goal in the 90th min is foolish, be optimistic this was a good season overall.

Dodgy goal? You mean the most offside goal in history?

I wish Cuvelier had decided to join us on loan instead of Posh - he might have been the difference in the last few games.
I do not wish to be overly critical of the team and manager but can anyone explain to me why Bowerman didn't get a run-out as sub in the second-half, given his two-goal salvo for the reserves on Thursday? The opposition manager said what a fantastic performance Walsall reserves put in at Chesterfield and yet the star-man that game is over-looked against a team who are relegated. Surely, the point of reserve fixtures is to show you are good enough for the first-team. I know he is not the finished article by any stretch of the imagination, but at least keep him chomping at the bit so that he can keep his confidence up over the summer (that's what I think anyway).
By the way, Sodje is FORTY (this reminds me of the time when Bournemouth's bouncer, Fletcher did a similar late equaliser when we drew 2.2 last season, I think it was).
Still, mustn't grumble :D

Heard it's because we're trying to entice a new sponsor for next season - lastminute.com!!
Last week was a bit of a sickener but we all knew (and probably the players too) that it didn't really matter at that stage today. Dodgy linesman didn't help mind. Still, the unbeaten run goes on - that must be something to be proud of at least? Let's hope it carries forward to next season.

Back home with a bottle of Oxford Gold in hand feeling rather deflated but I know in my heart I'm proud of OUR Walsall. Been a season of massive ups and downs but my god we've been entertained. Atmosphere was really flat today and think the players felt it too. Sure they were desperate for a massive cheer to come from nowhere meaning good news at Swindle. I really hope they choke in play offs and an rooting for Yoevil as they have done brilliantly and fair play to them.
As for us lets go out on a high at Crewe ( and stop these last min goals please !!! ) already can't wait for next season
Onwards and upwards . Up the Saddlers Forever !!!

- 15 games unbeaten
- One defeat in 2013, our only one in the last 20 games.
- Unbeaten at home since mid-November

Nevertheless, think Smith's taken this team as far as he can. Time to bring in someone with experience at this level like Stan Ternent or Ronnie Jepson. Or even one of the new breed of managers like Keith Alexander.
We're also crying out for a big man up top.

Re: Bury ( H ) League One Sat 20/4/13
This afternoon's performance gave the impression the players were only too aware of how unlikely we were to make the playoffs and frankly, we were rubbish.
To be fair to Bury, I've seen a few teams play worse than that this season, but they lacked any kind of leadership on the park and looked pretty toothless up front - two things we've suffered from in previous seasons, so it's easy to see why they've struggled. They did at least try to play football on the grass though, which is ore than we could muster for large parts of today's game.
In short, we missed Butler and Taylor desperately. Holden looked off the pace and Chambers having no left foot meant all his play forced us through an already congested middle of midfield.
Our one real piece of quality came for our goal. Baxendale, who rarely wastes a pass, did exceptionally well to beat their absolute brute of a midfielder and played the perfect cut-back for Brandy who finished clinically.
For the rest of the game though, whilst we never looked in danger, we didn't trouble them much either. Some of our star performers from this season seemed to have an air of lethargy about them - possibly understandable, but still a bit disappointing.
Anyway, poor performance but it did to really matter in the end. Lets go out with a bang at Crewe, just as we did at MK a year ago.

Nice day, reasonable crowd. Hoped for some nice passing football to bring them all again next season. What we got was abysmal dross. Couldn't care end of season stuff. Truly awful. If we had played like this all season we would be with Bury in L2 next year.

Good shout. Dave Penney is another who would have got this squad promoted in his sleep. Good name for headlines for the front page too. "Penney Drops In", "Penney For Your Thoughts", "Penney Far-Thing" (if we played long ball under him) are just a few I've thought of in literally minutes.

Really flat and lethargic performance in the second half which was disappointing way to end the season at home, still been a great ride and the ride will continue at Crewe despite us not being able to get in play offs.
MP Saddler is either a complete troll or a complete tool, probably both
