A F C Bournemouth (H) League 1 Saturday 19/1/13

Sun Jan 13, 2013 8:53 pm

A 17 game unbeaten run as seen Bournemouth emerge as serious play off contenders , win this and we could well join them.

The Cherries sit 7th in the table on 43 points from 26 played .

Full away record
won 4 - drew 4 - lost 4 - 18 goals for - 22 against

last 6 league games
Scunthorpe - away - won 2-1
Colchester - home - won 1-0
Yeovil - home - won 3-0
Crawley - home - won 3-0
Brentford - away - drew 0-0
Swindon - home - drew 1-1

Last League defeat
Coventry - away 1-0 6/10/12.

Prediction

Two sides bang on form should be a cracker

2-1 home win

For the record our visitors face premiership Wigan at home on Tuesday in an F A Cup 3rd round replay

I would take a draw now.

A win would get me giddy and put us 2 points behind them.

It's the type of game we could definitely take 3 points from - 2 in form sides, it has the potential to be a cracker and one I am certainly looking forward to! I'll also go for a 2-1 saddlers win with Brandy and Baxendale getting the goals. Be interesting to see what the crowd will be - Bournemouth should bring a few due to their unbelievable run of form whilst I think a few more home fans could potentially turn up due to our recent run of good form - I'll go for somewhere between 4,100-4,300 with around 700 travelling fans. Draw and I would be more than happy. Be nice to see a better gate than the usual effort. Getting carried away there though.

We will just brush Bournemouth aside with ease. 3-0 Brandy, Shandy, and Andy.

Don't care about the gate, the ones who want to be there will be, the rest are missing out on some good football, and a tidy Walsall side.

Yes looking at the forecast no chance game off on Friday to avoid the Cherries travelling.

Should be a good game, this one.

A draw is probably where the smart money is, but a win could make us genuine play-off hopefuls. I say hopefuls as I still believe we're some way off given the games in hand some of the sides around us have.

Yep, I feel it is going to be to much this season now, we can't really continue brushing sides away like this can we ? Just a shame we couldn't have held on to a couple of those leads we threw away, and nabbed an extra few points, could have made all the difference.

It's about time the team deserve some decent backing and noise from the home support and let's hope the apathetic supporters get off the backsides and turn out for this game.

No doubt it will be the usual 3,000 hard-core home supporters who can be bothered.

Think we'll lose, we will give them a game but they have some dangerous players in their team, no doubt they'll buy another two attacking players before our game as well.

I would be very happy with a draw.

It's my birthday and I'm going to try and make this one.

Like the Ellison twins, game landing on or around my birthday are normal not very good in terms of results, or in my case, sometimes called off.

If anyone fancies buying me a birthday pint, I'm the one with the pirate beard with my hair in a bob.

Where you going for a drink mate? If it is on, I'll come and buy you a pint or two. Happy Birthday by the way. Played Bournemouth on my birthday many years ago, and won 4-2 I think it was, so you never know.

I remember being disappointed when George Best didn't play for them against us after he joined them around 1980-ish. Wish I'd have seen him play even if it was at the butt-end of his career.

I'm with Tinned - it'll be off.

Might not be.People were saying the same before a home game, Colchester i think it was.We haven't had a match called off yet this season due to the weather.

Was it minus 6 degrees every night for the week leading up to that game? Once the frost sets in to the ground it takes its time to go. There is no way our £3.99 tarpaulin (bought off Bescot Market) is going to keep those kind of temperatures at bay.

Hope you're right mate. Don't want another rushed midweek game when a leisurely Saturday booze is better.

Honestly cannot see this game being on, just taken the dog for a walk and the field is rock solid and it is only going to get colder, plus nowadays clubs also call games off if the surrounding area is not safe and if the snow comes on Fri (if it snowed today instead that would have been a big help in keeping the pitch frost free) that is being predicted then I fear that may well be the nail in the coffin for Saturdays game which would be a pity considering the form we are in. Fire Bins and Tarpaulin is just simply not going to be enough.

Unless it really comes down tomorrow I think it'll be on we've managed to get our games on when most other clubs haven't this season.

As for the result I think we will need a better overall performance then preston as we never really stepped out of 2nd gear as we didn't need to.
However think it will be a good game and very tight to good attacking sides.

Will go for a 2-2 draw attendance to be it's usual naff self.. Bonsor to blame the cold on our poor attendances

But those have been postponed due to the rain. This will be because of the snow/ice - which we've always been susceptible to.
