3-0 us. They're a dead club walking. Just hope they survive the season so we don't lose our points!

I'm going all optimistic and say a 3-1 win, with Brandy, Grigg and Baxo with the goals.
Attendance will be 3,854, including 551 from Pompey.

Heart says 2-1 win, but head says 1-1 draw. To get three home wins on the bounce would be absolutely fantastic.

Another dominant display from the saddlers 3-0 (Brandy, Paterson and Grigg) attendance a shade under 4k with around 600 from pompey

Tend to agree, think we should beat them, but think it could be a frustrating night. Not to bothered as long as we keep playing well.

I don't know when this last happened but I'm not holding my breath. Lucky jumpers aside, I'm tipping a home win but at odds of 5/6 I'm not tempted. For those that use more accurate methods of forecasting I shall be wearing a new lucky jumper, colour - charcoal grey, make - Jack Wills, size XL [must have got the wrong size label on], material - jumpery stuff. Good luck fellow Saddlers.

Re: Portsmouth (H) League 1 Friday 4/1/13.
We last won 3 on the bounce at home at the end of the 2009/10 season under Hutchings.
We actually won the last five home games that season to secure a 10th place finish.
Pompey kept Swindon at 0-0 for an hour on Tuesday, and I expect them to keep it tight again and then try and nab a win. So I'm going for 1-0, not sure who to!

Walsall 4 v 0 Pompey (Brandy 2 , Grigg 1 , Butler 1)
This team has a big win in it and this is the game
4,675 in attendance (762 from Pompey)
14th place awaits

They've got a few injury doubts and we'm class so I think 2-0 to us.
Only thing that worries me is that they have David Connolly, albeit he probably aint fully fit.

He does have a good goal-scoring record, but at the same time he is now 35 years old and I would think that a combination of Butler/Downing should be able to look after him. (He said, hopefully.......)

Re: Portsmouth (H) League 1 Friday 4/1/13.
Im looking forward to tonights game lets hope for a saddlers win!!!! wouldnt it be nice to see all our youth team graduates playing tonight Grigg, Patterson, Bowerman, who have all got good records for the season, especially the latter! i just dont understand why Bowerman doesnt play i would love to see Bowerman and Grigg upfront together i think they could forge a good partnership.
Patrterson: Starts 31 / Goals 7
Grigg: Starts 25 / Goals 7
Bowerman: Starts 12 / Goals 7
I dont understand why the lad Bowerman is not being given an oppertunity as his record speaks for its self and as we all know he was playing with a injury for 3 of those games? i think Grigg who is a very good player and works hard for the team and Bowerman our most prolific finisher could work well together but they need DS to give them more than 2 or 3 games together to be able to forge a partnership.
i havent got anything against the lad Westcar but he has played the last 8 games and doesnt look like he jas got a goal in him, isnt it about time Bowerman is given the same oppertunity!!! to get back in the first team and palying upfront with Grigg.
anyway lets hope for 3 points tonight so we can start climbing back up the table UTS!!!

The reason Bowerman and Grigg don't/can't play together is that we're not well-suited to a 4-4-2. Could you see Bowerman or Grigg playing out wide, or 'in the hole' where Brandy, Westcarr and Cuvelier have all done a pretty decent job at times this season? I certainly couldn't, which is why I can't really argue with Smith's decision to go with one rather than both of them.

Im sorry i dont agree if you look back over the season one of our best reasults came from when we played 4-4-2 against Preston with both Grigg and Bowerman upfront!!!

Walsall 1 - 1 Portsmouth
Grigg to score in the last 10 - Mantom to provide the assist. Bit nervous about this one:
Portsmouth have just been thrashed and are desperate for a win
We're in front of Sky
It's hardly an intimidating stadium, the away support I suspect will be terrific
Real opportunity for the Portsmouth faithful to kick up a stink.
I hope Walsall deny them every chance!! Up The Saddlers!!!!

I really hope we can put in a good performance (AND get a good result*) as we seem to be the only game on the box tonight, aside from an obscure lower league job on an obscure TV channel. Almost guarantees us a good audience of football-on-the-box addicts. :D
*I'm thinking of Shrewsbury, of course; soooo frustrating to play really well, marmalise the opposition - then fall to a lucky goal and and an inspired goalkeeping performance... :(
