Only to keep them aware of their place at the bottom of the evolutionary scale, I hope.

Ha, ha, though I think that position is still reserved for Leeds fans (especially those hailing from Cheltenham).

Donny fan here, first game tonight in the away end as a "saddler". Off to see young Baxo tonight so hoping for a decent result for your lads and a goal for James.

1 nil Walsall, Viva Baxendale.

Sheff U 0 - Walsall 1

Saddlers to score a penalty in the last 5 mins. Sheff U to miss a penalty in the last minute of injury time.
The ghosts of '81 are looking down on you boys - the most gut-wrenchingly intense match I've been to in 34 years.

Indeed, doubt if it will be surpassed in gut wrenching terms. That match had everyhing! Had to bin my pants after that game, no chance of getting them clean :D

I was at Bramall Lane for that match which resulted in Utd being relegated when they missed a penalty. I was thumped from behind by some pleb who had,nt the guts to face me just because I cheered for the opposition. I really hope that the lads can turn it on tonight. Bit too far to travel for a match there now otherwise I would be going to see the down cast faces of some so called Utd fans who I used to work with when I was in Sheffield. Stick it too them lads.

I have a feeling we're going to get a draw tonight, 2-2, Patterson and Bowerman! 2-0 up and looking comfortable before Smith decides to replace Butler with Kermit the Frog and puts Taundry in goal.

Although they haven't lost a game all season so it's about time.......

Not the best start - Dean Holden sent off 15 minutes, and we go 1-0 down from the penalty..... :(

If I learned one thing from Chris Hutchings, it's that teams actually get stronger when down to ten men. There is no way we will lose this game.

What a difference a couple of weeks make. Now the same number of points from the relegation zone as from the play offs.

The drop in form and league table position was literally 100% only a matter of time. With Bury winning and Swindon coming up soon I struggle to see how we aren't going to be in the bottom 6 or 7 before mid November arrives.

Better than being in the relegation zone. Expecting a defeat from this one, Baxendale off for Downing makes sense to me. Up the Saddlers. Fingers crossed

In relation to Holden - anyone know how long the suspension will be? Is it just a game? Also, does it start Saturday as I seem to remember there being something about a weeks grace period to allow for an appeal (I may be making that up)....

Yow at the game, Darth? Nowt to do with Holden - everything to do with Paterson's horrendous misplaced pass which put United clean through.

For all that, should be at least on equal terms. Awful challenge on Grigg by their keeper - two footed leg breaker and nowt given. Dreadful. Then after great work from Flo, Grigg forced the keeper into a fantastic save. We've more than matched them with ten. Same again second half and we might snatch summat. Big effort required though.

Good to see that Paterson's amazing consistency of finding the opposition players at least three or four times every game is continuing. With a bit of luck Deano will bring on Bowermans hair for the second half which hopefully will settle on Patterson's face thus obscuring his vision resulting in a misplaced pass to Grigg who will slot home from 35 yards.
