If only we could take revenge for that embarrassment.

What would we give now for a striker like Tony Naylor, who could score from virtually every chance that came his way, from all angles, especially on that terrible play-off night at Bescot!

Really couldn't bring myself to post about the Shrews defeat such was my disappointment but the great thing about footy is the next game soon comes along and Crewe at home is always one to get you up for it again

The 1st leg of the playoffs at Gresty Road was even more agony. We had beaten Crewe at their place just a few weeks earlier and I recall Hibbitt coming on the radio boasting that Stuart Ryder fetched Tony Naylor out of his pocket before he got into the shower! To lose 5 -1 in a semifinal is still my worst ever game. How good would our current side be with Ryder at the back Martin O Connor in midfield and Sniffer up front.

The Crewe fans are not optimistic about Saturday according to their Crewe Mad site but reckon 800 - 900 travelling

Likely 1-1 Grigg

Dario Gradi is to be implicated in the Saville enquiry. Evo to be judge.

2-1 Walsall - Bowerman and Grigg.

Did we beat them or was it a point we got to make the play offs?

Was the game away before play off s the one Charlie scored from close range and in his interview he said you don't need a visa to be in the box or was that another away game ?!? Losing my memory fast these days .
Definitely remember the pain of that play off got soaked too on their uncovered terrace. Oh the misery :(

Loads of snide tickets going about for the game too. We had 8 or 900 and they reckoned there was 1100 or so in our end they were only perforated paper in those days

Lots of predictions of Grigg scoring.......are you sure you know what you are saying?

Butler with a consolation in another 2-1 defeat I fear, Grigg to run up and down a lot, miserable gate of 3 and a bit thou.
(MOG mode)
or:-
3-0 win in front of 7,000 ecstatic, jubilant fans! (Ancient Happy Clapper mode)

I know which choice most fans would select in view of current circumstances....sadly. :(

We'll beat this lot 2-1. Cuvelier - if fit - and Grigg to score for us in front of 3,985, including 582 from Crewe.

These lot knock the ball about on the floor so it should suit us (no big lumps according to a bloke I know - although not sure if that is correct).

2-0 to us. Grigg n Flo.

Lets be positive, it's just Crewe. We are in need of a win. At full strength, drop Chambers and Taunds. In with Perkiss and super striker Griggs, and it could just be like DS in charge against Bristol Ravers. 5-1 to us.

Looking forward to us having loads of possession, superb passing and winning the game 3 -0

or

Looking forward to us having loads of possession, superb passing and but unfortunately losing the game 3 -0

I will be disappointed if we lose the game but that will tempered by the knowledge that many on here will not care about the points but just be so pleased that we are playing such attractive football.

Looks like the Press Association are on form while supplying the BBC website. This, after 2 minutes against Crewe:

58 seconds - Andy Taylor takes a shot. Jamie Paterson makes a brilliant save.

Perhaps we're getting too generous towards our opponents?

Edit: 3 min ... Florent Cuvelier crosses the ball. Richard Taundry makes the save.
