We've gave a good account for ourselves here, what you been listening to?

They are Premier League, remember.

They're not Premiership, but I take your point. A good account of ourselves by the sounds of it...

We REALLY need a striker though. If we can get a decent one, and sign J Chambers I'll be happy - for now - to see how this squad goes...

That HAS to be Burton Albions 'Arsenal 1933'
As Darth has said, we may be giving a good account of ourselves, but it's all so paper thin, with a hint of 'lost cause' about it.......

Talking of strikers - well sort of - Andy Barrowman scores for Dunfermline against the mighty Montrose.

ok enough is enough, Grigg has played 5 games and I cannot remember him having an effort on target yet. Ok we are playing QPR tonight but this is past a joke now. Last season he started as first choice along with Macken and ended the season 3rd/4th choice amassing an incredible 4 goals. This season (people can argue we are not playing to his strengths) but he's got worse and worse. Its about time Bowerman was given his chance because this is getting ridiculous, anybody else would have been hung/drawn and quarter'd on here yet Grigg gets away with poor performance after poor performance.

Yes I said I would wait till christmas but by then he would have played 20 odd games and still not hit a barn door.

International for N.Ireland my backside, just proves how desperate they are for 'footballers'

3-0 Bosingwa volley.

Still seems like we have played better then we did against middles borough last year though.

Common theme however seems to be not enough up front come on Deano we've got enough defenders now we need someone up front who isn't a kid like Bowerman Grigg and Jones.

When you consider that any of the QPR substitutes will have a weekly salary which probably exceeds our entire squad tonight, then that puts it into perspective. However, with a bit more bite and experience up front it could have been a different story.

Bowerman is not the immediate answer. We desperately need a striker who knows his game. I don't agree that we need an old fashioned target man but what we need is someone like a Healy (who I mentioned earlier) who creates and scores goals.

Bowermans time will come but not now.

Before I get jumped on... a 10-12 goals a season man will do. I'm not expecting a 25 goal a season man on our budget.

Think I read somewhere that Bobby Zamora alone is on 90k a week which must be about 3 times our weekly wage. On paper this should have been about 3-0 so scoreline is as expected. Not too bothered at this match providing we get something against Brentford the weekend. Winning tonight was always going to be very difficult and listening to it on saddlers player we played okay for the most part. Still desperately need a striker but until we do sign one George should start.

Careful casual, some will have you believe that even that is too much of an extravagance for 'little ole Walsall'.

Anyways, QPR will be crippled by their over the top wage bill in a few years

"Virtuoso performance by Grigg" according to WM.

vir·tu·o·sos or vir·tu·o·si (-s)
1. A musician with masterly ability, technique, or personal style.
2. A person with masterly skill or technique in the arts.
3. A person with a strong interest in the fine arts, especially in antiquities.
4. A very learned person.

So .........which definition is it ?

Depends how you play though don't it - if we're doing this silly lone striker up top you need some presence.

Can't believe he's sticking with this 4-5-1 formation with nothing up top, 4-4-2, please.

I agree mate feel the scoreline is very unfair on us, I still think we can play nicely up to the box but there's not enough quality up front maybe an experienced head who is strong doesn't need to be tall just needs to be able to put up a fight against those big CBS we have in this league so we can lay off to our good attackers like Flo Hemmings and Patto

4-5-1 can work well with the right players. The five in midfield are one part of it and we do seem to have a reasonable five. But it will not work without a forward who can win the ball when out-numbered, hold on to it, and create chances for the attacking mid-fielders. We do not have such a forward at present and until we do the manager is making a big mistake in playing that formation.

No shame in this result. Frustrating to lose to a team who are spending their way to oblivion but presumably they will cheat their way out of it with a couple of administrations in the next few years and nobody will remember all the 'well-run clubs' that missed out on a nice cup run to boost the coffers.

Quite right. I was shocked by the quality of the team they put out. With a decent manager, QPR should be top 8 with this squad. I'm looking forward to Saturday personally. UTS

No shame In losing to that side, I'd given up any hope the second I read their team sheet. Just seen the goals Grof is questionable for all 3 slow off his line for the 1st, miles off his line (as usual) for the 2nd and flying around like a potato diving with his wrong hand for the 3rd. Might be time to give him a rest and a few weeks on the training ground - bring Wacka in. If anyone hadn't recognised yet, the season relies on dropping Will Grigg and loan listing him if we're going to play a foreign 4-5-1 with wingers close to the striker - fact, he's completely abysmal beyond recognition. So he tries, but that's it. Fair play on the following, though Im not sure why 3 more fans went tonight to a London game in which we have virtually 1% or less chance of winning, than a local-ish derby game in the league. Weird.

To be fair, it attracted a fair whack of interest from the off when the draw was made, many probably saved their pennies therefore missing Notts away.

Just seen the goals on SSN
Looks like Grof is culpable for the 2nd (lobbed way of his line, positioning looks suspect) and the 3rd where it looked like he dived with the wrong hand and instead of parrying the ball round the post, popped it up in the middle of the goal for a tap in.

He's struggling a bit.
