Nicholls 2 - 0 Grigg, the former Saddler has just scored for Northampton to rub salt into it.

Not to worry he still has the option of substititions which we all know hes so good at doing
Seemed an okay substitution to me, although you can always save face by having a pop at Grigg for not scoring the goal!

Whys everoneone so obsessed with Nicholls? Isnt he in a (theoretically) weaker league anyway?

Just a point of interest, yoda, nothing more.
He's just another ex-Saddler.

why would I need to save face? Smith is well known for making awful substitutions, thankfully this 1 worked out well for us. 3 games 0 goals

Not everyone is, and you are right, he has dropped to his level, where many predicted he would do OK.

I knew Alex would find his feet in League Two, it's his level, cannot cut it here.

A good point in the end - happy with that. Concerns me that Grof committed another howler for their goal, but sounds like he kept us in it on a number of occasions, so it was probably Grof 4 Critics (including me) 1 or thereabouts in this game! :D
Comments on Alex Nicholls are irrelevant - he may have found his level in League 2, hopefully anyway.

Well I would have taken a draw before the start of the game, so I'm happy with that. I look forward to hearing a report from someone who was there later on in the evening. As for Nicholls, he's moved on, good luck to him. Grigg will come good......... eventually

A good point and we're off the bottom. A tough one at Meadow Lane to come, and hopefully Bowerman to start.

I think because apart from Grigg he was the one that divided so many opinions

Perhaps he is the only one to score tonight? Plus people were discussing him on here. For what its worth, I'm not bothered he left - he flattered to deceive and had one opportunity after another. There is no doubt in my mind that Will Grigg is much the better footballer, even if he may not be the solution upfront on his own at the moment.

Well just to even things up - here is the BBC report from Rochdale v Northampton on Saturday...........
A new-look Rochdale side could not break down the stubborn Northampton defence in a goalless draw.
The hosts had six players making their league debuts, but were under pressure early on as the Cobblers bombarded their area with a string of set-pieces.
Ashley Grimes, George Donnelly and Phil Edwards all went close for the Dale.
After the break, Peter Cavanagh continued the threat with a diving header, while Alex Nicholls wasted a good chance for the visitors.
That's more like it

Wow, Talksport congratulating Portsmouth on a 2-2 draw despite "fielding a team of complete unknowns".

They used to play in the Premier League, meaning Talksport can tug off to them.

Makes me laugh reading that we are a poor poor side and they should have finished us off, if we were poor and they still couldnt win at home what does that make them? or are they just handicapped with a horrible bottomhole as a manager?

I expect nothing less from a station that was created by someone as loathsome as Kelvin McKenzie. Talkballs more like.

They can say what they like, we've just got a point away from home, point the finger at your own side if anything.
Both poor teams I'm guessing, who'll both be around the bottom.

Agreed both seem real strugglers, for some reason i expect them to finish above us, spose we always expected another tough season whilst picking up out of contract players etc - same as teams like oldham no doubt - just need a manager who can motivate, organise, be tactical etc , real tough one at County, be surprised if we get anything
