Good preview Neil, as always, but can I be pedantic and point out that Douglas Bader was decidedly NOT from Doncaster!!!!

Born February 1910 in St. Johns Wood (parents and older brother brought there from India specifically for the birth), spent his first two years in the Isle of Man before being considered fit enough for India's climate. Brought back to England when the family moved back in 1913 and lived at Kew until 1922. His mother re-married a year or so later, and her new husband (Bader's stepfather) was the vicar of Sprotborough, a small village of scattered houses near Doncaster. Packed off to St. Edward's school near Oxford in 1924, and managed to get in to Cranwell in 1928.

Hi Saddlers!

http://fuzzyrovers.blogspot.ch/2012/08/ ... t-day.html

There's a preview from the Rovers point of view.

Neil, I liked your preview so much, I've incorporated a link in mine!

Enjoy the match tomorrow (not too much mind) and all the best for the season.

Oh and the thread will also be posted on VSC (Lucky Pint, The Donny exiles site (new)and JA606 where a few of us always have a natter - feel free to join in. I may well drop in here during the match too :D

A fair review by Neil on the front page, but for God's sake leave Jeremy Clarkson alone, he's got sod-all to do with football, and not everyone shares your hatred of the bloke - personally I think he's a great laugh and I could watch Top Gear all day.

I do watch it, Geoff, but it doesn't stop him being a knob!

I still can't decide wether to be optimistic or pessimistic for the opening game of the season. I'll stick my neck out and go for a 2-1 to the mighty Saddlers with 4422 in attendance (937 making the trip down from t'yarkshire)

Can't make it down tomorrow, so the Saddlers Club entrance 'heavies' will avoid further blood spatters on thier gear....
Donny fans none to happy with the club last season, but Paynter is a 'mighty' signing..bound to get one against us...it's the law...... that all other teams star strikers HAVE to score against us..further rubbing in the salt...that "we don't need a striker"!
Expect a 1-3 defeat in front of 3,766, Hemmings to score the consolation...but the fight back towards my £1200 pay day starts on Tuesday night at Boundary Park!!!!!

Proportionately, he's about as controversial on a national scale as you can be on UTS with your opinions. He does great wind ups and loves it, so what? Great entertainment!

So nobodys allowed to wind him up? Why not? I'd imagine he'd enjoy it, as he seems to when his two co-presenters wind him up.

Can't remember where I saw it, but Dean Saunders has apparently been moaning about how thin his squad is. Looking at the squad lists on the BBC website, we see that:

Walsall have 22 players in their squad (23 now, with the addition of James Chambers)
Doncaster Rovers have 40.......

They can't ALL be donkeys, surely?????

James Chambers in for Taundry, otherwise unchanged. Taundry not on the bench either.

Doncaster Rovers defender Rob Jones booked after 3 minutes.....

Elsewhere, Rangers 0-1 down at home to part-timers East Sirlingshire!!!! It just means that the final score should be something like 12-1 instead of 12-0.

Im on the verge of walking out of this pathetic shambles, absolutly nothing upfront the midfield is useless.

Cant say I should be suprised what can you expect when you sign players that cant even make the grade in league 2.

Well done Jeff Bonser & Dean Smith *clap clap*
