Anyway, in Chambers' absence glad he's left the back five alone and not been tempted to put Taundry in midfield. Thought he might have put Beevers into the middle of the park to compliment Flo. As it is I suspect we'll look half decent on the ball when we're in pocession but PNE's midfield will also get some quality time with it too.

Come on lads!

Kids eh, who'd have 'em?!! :D

Was hoping to make the game myself this afternoon as only half an hour away, but a combination of being ill most of the week and still suffering with heavy cold, chest etc, as well as a hefty car bill in the week meaning pennies are now tight for quite a while, means I'm relying on live text and UTS for updates while I do the ironing in the warm!!

I'll just go next season!

One shot, on target, after 13 seconds   Jamie Paterson - who else?

Meanwhile Wycombe take the lead at home to Hartlepool :(

Further edit - Wycombe now 2-0 ahead, and Dingles losing by the same score at Newcastle (18 mins)

Twitter says Taundry's just decked their winger.

Apparently he didn't move for 4 minutes or so, PNE manager came on to see how he was.

"Delay in the action as Adam Barton received treatment following a hard, but fair, challenge by Richard Taundry on the touchline"

Hope he's alright. Full back is clearly good for Taundz.

Referee must have seen it as a fair challenge - no booking for the local lad

First half stats from Press Association (BBC)

Shots off target.... Preston 1 Walsall 8
Shots on target..... Preston 0 Walsall 3

We must be doing something right!!!

Pity we couldnt make one count - always a worry when you apparently dominate and dont score.

This is a hell of a big game with yeovil and exeter losing.

Grof pulled off a fantastic side right at the end of the first half.

Overall it sounds like we're playing fairly well, keep it up...

Grigg misses a 'wonderful chance' according to Mick Kearns.

Cuvelier also misses another..

We should have at least 2 goals by now by the sounds of it.

Bowerman on for Hurst, with 7 minutes to go...

Tempting fate I know, but when was the last time we had three clean sheets on the bounce? :D

Very disappointing that we didn't grab all 3 points considering the chances we created, still, a valuable away point.

I'm sure he'll get the No. 1 shirt next season when Jimmy probably retires. If a good run of form in the team now helps him to get that, then all the better.
With some very big games between now and the end of the season, great saves and man of the match performances could be as valuable as goals scored at the other end.

They would have been valuable all season. Grof shouldn't have been dropped after Wacka's suspension ran out. Points were more important than Wacka's record.

Got to be reasonably happy with third clean sheet on the bounce, a good attacking performance (30 attempts on goal! ) and 7 points out of 9. Playoff form! It really looks like we MAY have turned a corner.

An incredibly encouraging display, that carried on where we left off on Tuesday night. Even though Grof made some excellent saves, especially the 2 at the end of the first half, I thought that we were the better side & deserved to win. I thought that the team spirit was excellent...you could see the players encouraging one another, high 5s etc. Something must be going right at the club. I thought Taundry was excellent at full back ( please keep him there), Cuvelier was tireless and he always seemed to be there to distribute the ball. Such a shame that after doing all the hard work he missed when he looked certain to score. In fact I dont think anyone deserved criticism. It's a shame that Grigg cant get a goal as I think it would do wonders for his confidence. I would have liked to have seen Bowerman rather than Nichols replace him. I must be lucky as I have yet to see a duff performance in the games I have been at ( not representative I know). Nice to see Macken get such a good reception when he went off.
All in in all we looked like a team brimming with confidence & anyone who didn't know, would not believe that we are where we are.
Well done lads. If we can reproduce performances like that we will reach mid-table surely.

Mick Kearns said the same on Saddlers Player. It's a nice thought, but you need somewhere around 58-60 points to finish mid-table. Since we only have 14 games left, we'd need to pick up 26-28 points from those 14 games. I can't see it myself, I'll still be very happy with 18-20 points and safety!

I know Preston are only a small club with limited resources, and hate to highlight the negatives today...but...
30 shots on goal and not a single one hitting the back of the net?? :x
Tends to indicate there is a problem with our strikeforce which (still) needs addressing if we're to build on this great run of form and maintain our Third Division status.
A bit like Wycombe appear to have done. Good job we played them last week.

Three games, three clean sheets and seven points. I'd have taken that at 3pm last Saturday. Well done on a good weeks work, now lets hope we can take it on into the next three matches, I still feel we need another loan signing that can help us hit the back of the net a bit more often than we do.

Well what an excellent performance!!
Gutted not to have taken all three points in hindsight, especially with Flo missing a one on one. The guy was visibly upset at the end, which is good!
At the other end Grof was fantastic kept us in in it at times.

Thoroughly entertaining and open game. Well done to the lads, loving Grof and Flo. Amazing what a couple of weeks can do in football. Could of and should of won.

Great loud support from the Walsall faithful and the team deserved their standing ovation at the end xxx
