Given our dismal lack of shots on goal in other matches over the last few years, I'm quite happy for him to keep going - at least until his teamates show some ability to control the ball and get a shot off in tight situations.
Went to see walsall ( as I do a few times a season) on saturday. My first team are villa, so it was a step up from the dross they have been serving up of late!!
TBH, I thought the first half, as others have said on here and at the game, was pretty poor. Two poor sides, walsall edged it. Patterson looked lively, but flattered to deceive with his shooting. The second half was much better (though wycombe weren't!).When Nicholls missed (a back pass of a penalty) it looked ominous, so thank goodness hurst hit that one from out of nothing. After that walsall played well for 20 minutes ,and then got the second goal they deserved. Nice to see them win, but tempered by the fact that ALL the other teams near the bottom won as well (bar wycombe). So can they survive? Well TBH they may have to do what they did last season and pull something 'special' out of the bag. Had they lost on saturday it would have looked bleak. They have at least given themselves hope.....I hope to be back before the end of the season to cheer them on in their efforts!!
