An 'after the Lord Mayor's Show' 1-1 draw in front of 4,022, including 350 from Rochdale.

2-0 to the Saddlers with one from Bowerman, the other from Patterson. 265 Rochdale fans to return home disappointed

Re: Rochdale (H) League 1 Saturday 31/12/11.
Only just noticed that on December 19th Rochdale sacked their Manager Steve Eyre and his assistant Frankie Bunn. Their game against Tranmere was postponed over Christmas, and Chris Beech has been given the Manager's role on a caretaker basis - he was previously the Rochdale Youth Team coach.
Now, where have I seen that situation before :?:
Let's hope that he doesn't have the immediate motivational effect that Dean Smith had at the end of last season..........

Bearing in mind I get the Wednesday result correct (OK so I was about a thousand out on the attendance, but what's a thousand people amongst friends?) so I'm going for Saddlers 2-0 Rochdale, 4443 in attendance.

I'd love a routine 2-0 home win, but I get the feeling it won't quite be that straight forward. Still, let's have a bit of optimism and say 2-1 home win. Macken with a pen on 42 and Nicholls with the second on 59. They'll be all over us for the last half an hour, scoring with 10 to go.

This is what I hate about these match result predictions, such wishy washy vague generalisations!!
I'll go for a scrappy 2-1 to us (get 'em back for that Tin-pot Trophy embarrassment at thier place), but I'm hoping for a Brizzle Rovers scoreline instead! here's hoping.
I believe they are now bringing 83 fans with 'em as uncle Alberts Aunty Maureen and the twins are coming as well. Get that kiosk stocked up!
3,863 in attendance.

Don't forget, people: it's a 1 p.m. kick off!
I'm only saying this because some people might hypothetically not check, and may look daft when they phone, say their brother-in-law, to confirm they'll pick them up at 2 p.m. as usual. :o

1-1 in typical Walsall fashion. Not often a new manager loses his first game unless the opposition are ridicolously good - of which we are not.
4,021 406 from Dale.

Understand Uncle Jef has already had an offer of 3/6d + a bag of crisps, but is holding out for a full 4/- and a bag of pork scratchings..believe it was Brighouse Town, whose centre forward (who plays in glasses) has cut the bridge of his nose, so will be out for the rest of the season.
Here's to a winning end to the year.

After the lord mayor's show (again) and a 2 - 1 defeat I'm afraid.

Saddlers 2-1 down going into injury time, ending 4-2 to us after 11 minutes of added-time, due to a break in play when Manny gets a call from the dentist after 61 minutes to say he's arrived at The Banks's all-prepared to glue a crown on his broken tooth. Possibly!
Crowd 3,982 (including the dentist).

On the ball there Geoff!!! though I think your scoreline prediction may be a tad overboard, with out a goal scored in the 80th minute :) !

Disapointing, but just what to expect from two very poor relegation candidates.
Could have done with 3 points today, defeat on Monday and we will be back in the mire, Mondays Wednesbury :) efforts all for nowt.

Not all for nowt, thank God for the three points that lifted us out of the relegation places. But we certainly haven't capitalised on it, which is deeply disappointing, although totally predictable! :(

Re: Rochdale (H) League 1 Saturday 31/12/11.
A strange thing to say, but I would have taken a draw before kick off after the Boxing Day result. We simply have not got the consistent quality to turn the draws against fellow struggling sides into wins.
Still, that must be 8 or 9 games now undefeated in open play, the defence looks solid, the team has a more settled look about it and we at least appear to have some additional attacking options with Gnakpa, Bowerman and Paterson.
