57 mins. - Tank cautioned for unsporting behaviour (foul)
69 mins. - Blackstock cautioned for unsporting behaviour (foul)
In all, a very entertaining game. Saddlers had the slight edge in the first half, largely due to Forest apparently leaving their shooting boots back at the City Ground and also thanks to two outstanding flying saves from Grof. The visitors took control at the start of the second half while Walsall offered little up front, once Bowerman had gone off. After Forest had deservedly levelled the scores, Walsall came back into it and finished the stronger side in the closing minutes.
Full credit must go to both teams for trying to play football "on the ground" (as a very famous former Forest manager always preferred it). Reid was at the heart of most of the Forest quality.
Our triallist, Luke Mulholland looked very promising - a Brit who has been playing Stateside:-

Having watched our Youth Team, and now the Reserves, trying to play the game properly, instead of resorting continually to "hoofball", I am left to wonder why the quality of our First Team football is so dire? Admittedly, the opposition is stronger (Dagenham & Redbridge ???) but is it down to lack of confidence and self-belief?

A very busy attacking midfield player. I have to say that the first impression was quite a good one. Of course, I would like to see more matches involving him before forming a firm opinion.
