Exeter City (H) F A Cup 1st Round Replay Wednesday 23/11/11,
Chance to put our dismal league form aside as we welcome Exeter for the second time this season.
The reward for the victors a second round trip to Bath or Dangenham , alas I fear The Grecians will be making that trip

In one of the UK's largest 'towns' over 250,000 souls would rather watch the Dingles the Vile, or the Baggies...
And why not, it sure aint a pleasant experience at the Bescot these days, even amongst those of us who have been long suffering throughout this talentless uninterested drought of the past few years.
1-2...... 3,083 to witness another embarrassment.

have decided i will be going to the game on wedneday, mainly because i have a villa mate who attened the home league fixture with exeter and said our atmosphere was litterally non existent and he is debating about going in the away end, i have to ld him i will go only to prove walsall fans can create an atmosphere, hope those who do find the will and money to come bring a positive and enthusiastic head because i want to get some life back in the ground even if those wasters are being their typical in consistent selves.

as much as i do share your hate for villa, i have to confess to seeing them away twice, once at pompey and once at wigan, both times there support and following was 1st class i have to say, i did see them boxing day last year at home against spurs and the atmosphere was really dire..... i guess its the general rule of football as much as i hate it.

Easy to make noise when you travel in thousands....
Vile Park is like a morgue though.

then why not easy to make noise when their at home in thousands ?
why do we find it easy to make a craking atmosphere with only 500 fans ?
i personally dont think its the numbers that count, yess more people equals more voices that equals a louder atmosphere if all get involved, but i think its the mindset, for some reason people dont have that enthusiasm to have a sing song at home compared to when their away.
maybe its because they dont drink as much courage before a home game or that an away game takes them back to when following walsall was a reall buzz and they then feel motivated to try and re live them magical days when our away support was pretty decent.

Re: Exeter City (H) F A Cup 1st Round Replay Wednesday 23/11
It is the mindset/away day buzz, generally home fans are much quieter than the away lot, well, nowadays anyway...
Anyway...at an away game if you want to sing you usually piss off straight to the back and stand with the other singers, even if you don't know them. Can't really do that as the home fan due to the plastic cack and said plastic shite being took up.

i dont peersonally think we have enough people with the mindset at w.f.c take the bunch of people from behind the goal and put them away and theyll sing all day, put them in the banks' and some of them dont want to know unless we have scored or theres something controversial.

Re: Exeter City (H) F A Cup 1st Round Replay Wednesday 23/11
Exeter are a team similar in ability to us, so we shouldn't be playing them three times in quick succession, twice at home, and not winning any of them.
My only prediction is that it will be boring.

Re: Exeter City (H) F A Cup 1st Round Replay Wednesday 23/11
I very rarely make match predictions (unless writing on the front page) but I had a dream about this game last night and that's good enough for me. So...
Walsall 5-8 Exeter
To be fair, I don't think people should immediately rush to criticise us for shipping 8, particularly since we managed to keep a clean sheet in the second half despite having three players sent off in the first.
And we were 8 down after half an hour so, you know, I'm taking positives from the game. Which, of course, hasn't happened yet.

I also predict a really dull game played out by 2 really poor teams. Both sets of supporters pleading for somebody/anybody to score to save us from extra time.
Prove me wrong Deano.

Attendance tonight will be less than the 2500 who watched Stourbridge last night, anyone who watched that, saw attractive positive football, not hoof up the middle to forwards that cannot jump
We will win I hope but it will not be what we have come to expect from a poor walsall football team

Four changes, and it looks like we're playing 4-3-3 :
Walker, Beevers, Butler, Lancashire, Sadler; Taundry, Wilson, Chambers; Nicholls, Grigg, Macken.
subs : Smith, Jarvis, Paterson, Bowerman, Gnakpa, Peterlin, Grof
