Re: Tranmere Rovers (A) League 1 Saturday 22/10/11.
........ I predict that the Saddlers are going to build on Saturdays top drawer performance and go on a winning streak catapulting them into play-off contention. Dean Smith to be given the freedom of Walsall Town before Xmas and then promoted at the end of the season to God status alongside Sir Ray when we clinch Div 1 as champions with the last kick of the game winning 1-0! 8)
Trannies 1 Walsall 2, sparking dancing on the terraces once again amongst the Saddlers faithful - Come'on !!!

I'm coming down to Walsall more often, there are obviously some damn good 'uppers' on sale somewhere!
I'll go for a 1-1, they are quite strong at home of late.

The youth team have just won 6-1 at Tranmere.
Something along those lines would be acceptable.

Oh, please, teacher - appalling grammar there. I'm sure that you would correct your little cherubs if they used an adjective when they should have used an adverb?

I know, Barry's predictions that aren't 7-0 are doing my head in. It can't be helped.

Re: Tranmere Rovers (A) League 1 Saturday 22/10/11.
Tranmere 1 -2 Walsall
A classic away day performance, early pressure to be soaked up by Dean's side, followed by Walsall asserting their authority on the game. The invasion of the body snatcher effecting Nicholl's to continue as he runs the forward line with confidence and a spot of flair, grabbing a goal in the process. Hurst, possessed by the spirit of John Hodge's pants he found at the back of the locker, plays an aggressive attacking game, also getting himself a goal in the process. Walsall to come under a spell of pressure late in the second half before returning home with the 3 points.
Away fans to aware of the strange boiled cabbage smell drifting from across the North shore of the Mersey.

cheeky 2-1 win.
Me to be in attendance accompanied by either 1, 2 or no non-walsall fans.

We never seem to do well against Tranmere, but I'm thinking we might nick a 1-0.

Re: Tranmere Rovers (A) League 1 Saturday 22/10/11.
Im a fan of the ticket thing that Tranmere do for young people 18-23 (i think?). It means some of us dont have to pay the full adult price :D
I also read somewhere before the prices that Tranmere charge their home fans, and they seemed to be cheaper that what they are charging us on saturday, which i thought was unusual...

This might be my first match for a long long time! Which pubs will we be in? Or is it still the club under the stand?

Re: Tranmere Rovers (A) League 1 Saturday 22/10/11.
1-3.
Tranmere to go one up early on with an own goal from Hurst who dribbles the ball into his own net after a skilful mazy run.
Saddlers gradually take control and Grigg's hair equalises from a free kick just before half time despite claims that certain longer strands were in an offside position.
Then a surging run from Napkin on the right ends with the ball bobbling free to Alexa Nicholla on the edge of the box. Radiating with inner beauty and a glow that only goalscoring can bring to a girl, she deftly chips the keeper. One - two.
Then in a surprising twist, Smith hands over the reigns for the last 15 mins to Tommy Coakley , who brings his own subs with him. Such an innovative move is rewarded handsomely when a 50 year old Mark Rees completely outpaces their back line to square for Trevor Christie to pop it over the line with his walking stick.
This ignites some wild celebrations from Saddlers new and old ending with a red card for Graeme Forbes for head butting seven Tranmere fans.
Bog standard away day 3 points.

Saddlers to scramble home an 89th minute winner to make it 5-4.
Chelsea to evaporate in a cloud of puss.

1-1 draw, match less interesting than the Clipper. 325 Saddlers in away end and lots of people in shellsuits in other parts of ground.
