Claude Gnakpa
Richard Taundry
Michael Woods
Jake Jones

Jamie Paterson
George Bowerman

Subs (all unused)

Match report on club site:-
http://www.saddlers.co.uk/page/News/0,, ... 85,00.html

Chris Nicholl has put a positive spin on the performance in his match comments. However, there will be few Saddlers' fans who will share his views. This was a very disappointing performance with the Saddlers' second string seemingly unable to string two passes together. Vale were worthy winners and were rarely troubled.

Considering that Beevers, Lancashire, Paterson, Taundry and Gnakpa would have been battling for a place in Saturday's starting line-up, it was particularly depressing.

We lost 2-0 at home, with a a good few players either from the first team,or looking for a place in it, and we never used a single sub? Did we actually have someone there managing the team ?

One other question, is there any good news concerning W.F.C ? :(

Poor result given the side we put out. Proof that this squad just isn't good enough?

True. Probably a mixture of both.

It's the risk you take as a manager when you start tinkering with the team. Players' heads soon drop as they realise that it's unlikely they'll establish a regular spot in the side. The Merson era was proof of that.
