Colchester United (A) League 1 Saturday 24/9/11.
Like ourselves the U's began the season brightly , our hosts sit one point and one place above us in the table .
Colchester this season,
Preston - away - won 4-2
Wycombe - home - drew 1-1
Charlton - home - lost 0-2
Huddersield - away - lost 2-3
Oldham - home - won 4-1
Scunthorpe - away - drew 1-1
Orient - home - drew 1-1
Brentford - away - drew 1-1
Sheff United - away - lost 0-3
Full home record
won 1 - drew 2 - lost 1 goals for 6 - against 5
Prediction : Exactly the kind of game we need to take something out of ,
1-2 Away win.

Do poeple REALLY think this set of tat bags will win an away match again this season?
More chance of winnin the lottery, we'll be mullered 4-0 if the U's have on 'off' day, otherwise I hate to think.....

Colchester 2 Walsall 0, unless we manage to score a 30 yard wonder goal, a goal of a set piece, or a penalty, in which case Colchester 2- Walsall 1

Oddly, after a couple of bad home results and the consistency of our inconsistency I wouldn't be surprised to see us nick something here. 1-1.

2-2 in a epic fun fest.
The away contingent to make a massive paper plane and glide back to Layer Road for tea and scones.

Easiest game of the season to get to! 26 mile round trip! Have a drink in the Norfolk beforehand, nice pub, got Sky, no issue with colours.
The U`s use our gym. Spoke to a couple of their lads on monday (they saw the Saddlers training top) and asked them to go easy as we were cack (going on the comments here and reports from mates at the Bescot). They laughed and said they werent much better! They said their boss reckons they can make the play-offs but they sounded like they didnt believe that.
First game of the season for me, but it sounds like we have been dire for the last four games and dont see a turnaround in fortunes here. Generally poor against the U`s (anyone remember that 5-0 at Layer Road?).
2-0 home win.

Starting line-up : Walker, Beevers, Butler, Smith, Sadler, Paterson, Chambers, Taundry, Hurst, Grigg, Macken.
Subs : Jarvis, Peterlin, Lancashire, Westlake, Grof
Four changes. Very surprised that Smith is back in for Lancashire. Martin, Jarvis and Peterlin also dropped. No place for Nicholls or Martin on the bench.

Agree, very surprised Lancashire left out again, not sure that change strengthens the team. Looks like a back to basic 4-4-2 formation. The signing of Martin does appear a bit strange as he cannot even make the bench, loan signings are usually designed to strengthen the team, no point having him in the squad just making up the numbers.

Not sure what Lancashire is doing wrong, I think Manny has been awful in every game he's played.

Perhaps the fact Lancashire can't defend? His positional sense is awful, worse than Smith.
You just have a downer on Smith because he was poor last season. He hasn't been this.

He can defend firstly. Lancashire is unable to do this currently.

Its strange, Lancashire and Butler is a good partnership together. I really can't see what Lancashire is doing wrong, I've not noticed his positioning being that bad.
