You would think that by this stage of pre-season that Deano would have a reasonable idea on who would be in his starting XI for the Orient game, so I would expect us to start with the team he has in mind for that game against both Cheltenham and Vale, especially with so many new players to try and give them time to gel. With that in mind I'd expect starting XI to be: Walker, Westlake, Sadler, Butler, Lancashire, Chambers, Peterlin, Gnakpa, Hurst, Macken, Grigg.

That team should be strong enough to beat Cheltenham so I'll go for a 2-1 win, Macken and Hurst to get the goals.

This will be the biggest indicator so far about how our side is progressing. I am one for building positivity in pre-season and a win here would begin to generate that.

I hope I am not reading too much into this... but the Smith and Butler pairing seems to be the first choice at the moment? Hmm.

Also, Gnapka may play up front with Nicholls out wide tonight.

Smith is nowhere near as good as Lancashire, i genuinely believe that if Smith didn't have another year on his contract then he would have gone rather than McDonald.
Gnapka may well be worth a look at playing upfront.

I think you're right - especially as he played Macca in the last few games

I bet that goal we have conceded came through either Beevers or Smith. Hmmm.

Good to see we are still trying to play it around. Think we looked the best when we had Westlake providing a good outlet against the Wolves last week.

Starting to look the dominant side now. Had a fair few corners and had much of the ball.
