Leyton Orient (A) League 1 Saturday 3/3/12.

Sat Mar 03, 2012 3:50 pm

Butler booking was for a 50/50 clash of heads according to text reports from the ground.

No surprise Orient are down to 10 - very physical apparently, Heavy challenge on Grof for the goal went unpenalised.

Not sure whether that is a blessing or a curse! :?

I'd take it every time. Even though we're one down, we should be looking for a win here.

Exactly. Nothing to lose now - get a more defensive minded player off and get Bowerman on.

Lets not do that.

Bring Bowerman on by all means but do it for Grigg. We've been doing well the way we've been playing the last few weeks, would be daft to throw that all out of the window now and randomly start changing shape at half time just because they've had a man sent off.

Remember though.....you're up against that well-known "10 men play better than 11" football scenario. What tactical move should (could?) Dean Smith make - he's got 45 minutes with a man advantage - I think I would bring on Bowerman and sacrifice someone like Peterlin so that we can hammer Orient with 4  strikers.

I was in the act of writing this post when the above posts were placed - great minds think alike!!!

Got to go for it.

I would rather us push and be positive rather than sit back and wait.

Situation would be different if we were drawing - but we are not. We could really do with 3 points today and this is a great time to get it.

Agree - Cuvelier and patterson playing mean that we've got enough potentially up front already. If needs be, the team could also be reshaped by shifting the local lad.

46 minutes - Orient sacrifice a striker, bringing on presumably a defender to replace the full-back dismissed. Come on Deano, get Bowerman on!!!!

4-4-2, and I think switching to 4-3-3 would handicap us. As things stand everyone knows where they're playing and what they're doing. We're not really good enough to switch formations on a whim, so should stick as we are. I think we're more likely to get a result that way.

They've bought on Marc Laird, didn't we have him for a while?

I just believe in being positive and reacting ad lib to situations.

They are obviously going to sit and camp out in their own 18 yard box. If we haven't broken through in 15/20 mins then we HAVE to go for it. Especially with other results today.

agree with the timing. There are lots of options - and, as an added bonus, there can be no temptation to put Jarvis on!

I agree, but at this point we need to up the tempo rather than change shape. If however we're still one down in 10-15 minutes time I might change my mind.

Grigg off, Nicholls on. Why does Nicholls still get on ahead of Bowerman????????

According to someone at the game.

We are 'dire' and 'struggling' to make anything.

Change things Deano NOW.

No idea - his fragile confidence, if it exists, must be in billions of pieces

Sounds like we are absolutely awful. Disjointed performances are what'll send us down. Got to take advantage when players get sent off, second half we should have gone at them straight away. But no.

Precisely. What I said too.

HAVE to go for it. Why are we fannying around?

I would rather lose 2-0 going for it with the chance of us winning 2-1.

As always...Deano dow rate him, end of, he may as well go out on loan, cus with Deano in charge (Until we lose this one!)
he aye never gonna get into the team. Have a bad feeling about today now, and all the other results are going against us big time...Oh how we could do with a striker for gawds sake!!!

FFS sake Deano! What idiot brings on a striker who couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo, and leaves someone who always looks like scoring on the bench? It's a good job jarvis isn't on the bench he'd be on.
