Exeter City (A) F A Cup 1st Round Saturday 12/11/11.
It's that time of year again we when dreams turn to giant killing , Arsenal , Manchester United and Newcastle United to name a few .
Or dreams of my beloved Saddlers reaching Wembley , frankly right now I'll settle for reaching the second round .
Prediction
1-2 Away

Love the FA Cup, always a certain romance about it and I am sure it will bring the Walsall fans out in force on Saturday. We are in the Stagecoach Stand of which we have nearly sold out of advance tickets.
After the return of the soul of the club I know and love in recent performances I am backing a 3 goal romp.
Exeter 1 - 3 Walsall
Walsall are back,
Walsall are back,
woah, woah
Audience: 5,494
inc 735 Saddlers

Yes I love the first round of the cup also. The hopes/dreams....only to be dashed by 5.45. Then to look at the draw to see who we would have played in the next round.
I'm going to Exeter but also in the gay seats i'm afraid.
Where are saddlers going for pre-match beers in Exeter?

A narrow 2-1 defeat, Butler with ours, in front of 3,281 [447 Saddlers]

Re: Exeter City (A) F A Cup 1st Round Saturday 12/11/11.
To be honest I would much rather have drawn somebody like Huddersfield, either of the Sheff's or Charlton away.
Under those circumstances we would just write the day off as yet another inevitable first round exit, this way, somehow a defeat will seem to dampen our spirits to an unbelievable degree. following the performance at the Galpharm, I think we will falter at Exeter, they have been playing incredibly well lately, and lets face it, Saturdays point gained was due in no small way to arms, legs, backs, uprights, crossbars and goalies hands..not our fabulous attacking game, so it's a 2-1 defeat I fear. Why couldn't WE have drawn Tinkerbottom Rovers at home? Still, thats our luck aye it!
About 3,400 with 271 Saddlers trudging wearily back to gurrole Worsull. :(

Saturday's two extra points were lost due to a very slightly pistimed punt, and the point we got was thoroughly deserved from us pulling back after going a goal down. Huddersfield were lucky their own arms, backs, legs and goalie etc. got in the way too. That performance against the league's high fliers would pulverise Exeter were we to repeat it.
Exeter 2-5 Walsall
Ancient Moaner to be thrown out of the grounds nude by the stewards, shouting "It was all right for Edwina Currie".

A fairly standard 3-1 exit from the cup.
A Walsall FC banner to be planted firmly atop Exeter cathedral prompting and council meeting and media enquiry.

Are walsall fans just in the grandstand and not on the terraces?

The point I was trying to make is highlighted above my friend, how often have WE heard, similar expressions to "were we to repeat it"!!!!
Would love to see us in the 2nd round of a cup competition...but there are a lot of Saddlers fans out there, like me, that have learned to become "realists".
And I fool ye not, no one, I reapeat no one, would want to see me naked!!!!

Re: Exeter City (A) F A Cup 1st Round Saturday 12/11/11.
It looks as though we'll be facing a weakened Exeter City side...... according to the BBC website (updated today, Thursday) they will be without their goalkeeper Artur Krysiak and on-loan midfielder Matt Oakley, both following injuries sustained against Carlisle. Also, Jake Taylor has been called up for the Wales U-21 side.
Mind you, look what happened to us when we had to field a reserve keeper  (and I didn't mean Andy Petterson!!!)
However, if any team is due for a cup run it has to be us....... I think a 1-2 or even 1-3 to The Saddlers. I shall try to keep in touch from the Costa del Sol :D

Oh dear, why oh why are we still persisiting with Macken up front, he is clearly not yet fit, should have put Gnakpa with
Nicholls, and shoe-horned Peterlin into midfield, he is proving to be immense in the role, and will be missed. MMW.
Still, UTS and draw Fleetwood away again?
