Anyone go to the game this afternoon?
Final score: Walsall - 6 v Burton Albion - 3 :D
Grigg (4), Deards and Jones were the scorers according to the live blog.
Couldn't make it unfortunately due to work commitments but good to see some 1st team players getting some much needed game time on return from injury. If anyone could provide a match report it would be much appreciated.

I'll post a full report, later this evening.
Grigg 4 goals, Taundry and Westlake back after injury (just as well with Beevers's suspension).

Re: Reserves v Burton Albion - 17/4/2012
Was quite an entertaining afternoon. Nine goals can't be bad!!
Came back from a goal behind twice, the first one looked a mile offside.
Six players in the team who have been in the first team this season.
Jake Jones seems to improve each time I see him and Malvinder Benning and James Tank are names for the future.
As has been said, Grigg scored 4 goals which should be a confidence booster for him. Still can't say I rate him that much!

Super Saddlers (4-4-2)
Liam Maher
Darryl Westlake
Jamie Tank (capt.)
Oliver Lancashire
Malvind Benning
Jamie Paterson (Joey Butlin, 66 mins.)
Anton Peterlin
Richard Taundry (Ben George, 62 mins.)
Jake Jones
Will Grigg
Nicolas Celeste (Connor Deards, 45 mins.)
Unused Substitutes:-
Kieron Morris
Liam Roberts (gk)
Manager:- Neil Woods
Goal Log:-
10 min. - 0-1 - Adi Yussuf (looking offside - but he wasn't, according to the tv replay!) put the Brewers ahead.
29 min. - 1-1 - a cracking finish by Grigg put the Saddlers on level terms.
34 min. - 1-2 - Evan Garnett ensured that the Saddlers' joy was short-lived.
43 min. - 2-2 - Grigg on the mark to ensure that the Saddlers went in on level terms, at half-time.
59 min. - 3-2 - Deards with the best goal of the game, cutting in from the left to score from the narrowest of angles.
75 min. - 3-3 - Andres Gurrieri, left unmarked at the far post, equalises for Burton.
78 min. - 4-3 - Grigg completes his hat-trick from the penalty-spot after he had been fouled by Ryan Jackson.
87 min. - 5-3 - at last - a 2-goal margin! Jones puts Walsall further ahead.
88 min. - 6-3 - the Burton collapse is complete as Grigg adds his fourth.
Both teams looked much happier attacking than defending - as the score suggests! Westlake and Taundry got some match-play minutes towards recovery after injury and Grigg's four goals can only have helped his confidence. Whenever play was stopped, Grigg spent most of the time chatting to Seanan Clucas (on loan to Burton from Preston), his team-mate from the Northern Ireland U21 team! Celeste, the Argentine triallist, did little to impress in his 45 minutes. He does not appear to be another Ledesma. :D

I'm praying Smith opts for Taundry at right back on Saturday rather than Westlake.
