Manager to be announced 3pm today

Thu May 22, 2008 8:51 am

I've heard from a very reliable source that there will be a grand unveiling ceremony this afternoon.

As to the guy's identity, I'm sworn to secrecy I'm afraid. I can tell you it's not Holloway or Kelly or Kinsella or Morrow or a lot of other people.

Not a wind up but I suppose it could be that I'm being wound up! So no slamming me at 3.05!

I really hate to be a tease but my source was told that there is a press embargo on this news until 3pm.

Have Heard from a source its either Mullen, Peter Taylor or Martin Allen.
I think it will be Allen and Mullen as assistant and they are waiting for mullen to come back off his hols to accept
the assistants job

Last time I remember virtually no one being happy was when a certain Ray Graydon was appointed. As I remember what followed was far from a relegation battle!

So your source is so well informed, he's managed to tell you it's 3 of the most unlikely people.

Wont be Mullen - he'd have got it straight away if he was going to get it.

Wont be Taylor - why the delay?

Won't be Allen - why the delay?

possibly because of the 'Mr man'? Perhaps, Bonser waited for him and he wanted too much money so he went back for plan b?

i have a feelin it will be mullen, im sure bonsor has interviewed all the rumour candidates lambert, staunton, morrow, allen, taylor etc etc etc etc etc, but the opertunity of 2 years on the cheap contract wise with mullen will be too much for bonsor to resist.

MY EXTREMELY reliable source says that it's Martin Butler as player manager.

I see what you're saying, but Bonser isn't stupid... I hate the guy, but he's not daft. And appointing Mullen would be the daftest thing he could do. He knows he's losing fans at a rate never seen at the moment, and he knows he's got to redress that balance with a decent managerial appointment.
