Southampton (A) League 1 Saturday 7/5/11.
Southampton can clinch automatic promotion at Plymouth this bank holiday Monday If the Saints win, any less than an home win will see Argyle relegated .
That will leave the final relegation spot between ourselves Notts County and Dagenham.
Dagenham travel to London Road to face A Peterborough who need a win to be assured of finishing 4th.
County face champions Brighton at Meadow Land who having missed the chance of reaching the 100 point mark have very little to play for
Bristol Rovers can still mathematically survive if they win by 16 clear goals at Colchester
For the record Plymouth's final game is at home against Leyton Orient
Predictions
Plymouth 0-2 Southampton
Peterborough 2-1 Dagenham
Notts Couny 1-1 Brighton
Southampton - Walsall will not matter we'll be safe :D

Re: Southampton (A) League 1 Saturday 7/5/11.
The Notts County result won't actually affect our survival chances - we'd have to win to get above them in the league, which means we'd be safe anyway.
I think we'll find it very difficult to beat Southampton away, although I'm confident that on the right day we can. Still, I think our best chance lies with D&R slipping up against Peterborough. I can't see Notts County beating Brighton, neither can I see Plymouth beating Southampton on Monday.
Prediction:
Southamton 1 Walsall 2 (very hopeful)

I reckon we'll lose but so will everyone else, which mean's we stay up.
2-1 Saints, I want us to score at least!

If we draw and Notts lose by 3 or more, we'd finish above them. It's not one of those statistical impossibilities. It is unlikely but perfectly plausible.

Re: Southampton (A) League 1 Saturday 7/5/11.
My missus is a Saints fan so this is a HUGE game in our household!
A win for Saints tomorrow (which I really think will happen) will really boost our chances as I think the complacency/tiredness element will come into play for them on Saturday. If Saints do win tomorrow I think we can get a draw on Saturday to be safe. If it's draw tomorrow then I think we will lose by one goal on Sat but stay up thanks to Peterborough winning against D & R. A Plymouth win tomorrow I think could lead to the Pilgrims completing an amasing escape as I think they'll then also beat Leyton O at home in their last game.
I will definitely join my missus in being a Saints fan tomorrow though! :)

Can't see anything but a home win on this one. All home tickets sold out so will be over 30,000 there, so even if Saints are effectively promoted tomorrow I think they will be up for it next Saturday! I think Peterborough winning is the main hope.

Should collect a nice wedge if we win then mate. What were the odds? At least 25-1 surely.

Walsall are less than 3-1 to win, absolute miserable odds in all honsesty.
Southampton are 12 matches undefeated in league at home, last losing on 11th December to Brentford.
Winning last 8 at home as well.
My heart says a Walsall win, but honestly cant see it.
Southampton 3 Walsall 0.
But Daggers lose and we stay up anyway!
Get in!

Same every year on the last day. The bookmakers go ridiculously short on the teams that need to win to stop up / win promotion etc. Just because a team needs to win, doesn't mean that they will.
Ignoring the occassion and backing (singles) based on current form is a good way of nicking a few quid.

A valiant 3-1 defeat, with Richards reprising his free kick from last season.
As many others have said, it really all depends on whether D & R can get anything at London Road which will probably decide our fate.

This is true. Thankfully I'm a genius with everything else so someone just points out what all the zeros mean on my payslip. Unfortunately, there's nothing before them. :?

I'm more terrified the closer we get to this match.
I dreamt last night that we wome 0 - 2.... so I'm putting a bet on that then watching with closed eyes.
Think Leeds last year... this is it!!!
UP THE SADDLERS!
(plus I live in Southampton!)

Nah.
It's all set up for Butler to smash one home in the last few minutes to send the 1,700 Saddlers ape cack.

Whacker to go up front for a 94th minute corner, get chopped down and win our first penalty since Kenny Mower played for us. Matt Richards to take said penalty, score, jump into our end, find Philthesaddler and give him a big kiss on the forehead.

Rotherham at Home. With Notts County, had we lost, there were other chances.
