10 minutes to go, and Ledesma on for Byfield......
give him the ball near the corner flag, he should be able to get ten minutes out of that situation!!!

Still in the referees' pockets for another 10 minutes - we're on British Summer time now, not your cut-price Hong Kong variety

6 minutes to go, and macken clears the crossbar (from inside the six yard area!!!) - at least he's going for his hat-trick.

It's easy for me to say from my armchair but 3,100 on a nice April evening is a poor turnout.
Great result though - we am stayin up.

The League table certainly looks better than it has done for a long time, but don't forget that we're only one point ahead of Notts County, and they do have a game in hand over us. (However, their form at present would suggest they would have a hard time overcoming any reasonable Primary School reserve team)

Re: Brentford (H) League 1 Tuesday 12/4/11.
Looking at the League table now, Saturday's game between Tranmere and Dagenham looks rather massive (for us, potentially!!!)
We now have 43 points, so 3 more wins will make us safe - therefore if we can beat Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton at home, and Oldham away (some hopes!!) it won't matter what happens against Brighton and Southampton. Whatever happens, we do have a real chance of staying up now, and around Christmastime anyone saying we would be in that position by April would have been laughed out of town.
Well done Dean and the squad - I (and many others) am proud to be a Saddler.

First half was complete dross apart from Macken's goal
They were rubbish and we were no better
Second half was decent
Good team goal for the second and a lovely finish by Macken's hand for the third
Good spirit shown tonight to keep going but overall a lack of quality
Garbage of an attendance

We were shocking at times defensively tonite, our only danger was ourselves, IMHO I dont think Brentford deserved to lose tonite but a win is a win, make no mistake we have to vastly improve for Saturdays game.

Got away with that to be fair, for 38 minutes we were atrocious, then we remembered we were there to play football and improved drastically.
Brentford for all their possession particularly first half should have created more chances. When they did get chances in the 2nd half they wasted them.
PHEW!
Macken was ace!

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
How great does it feel to be ABOVE the relegation zone?! :D
Terrible attendance btw, for a crunch game where the hell were you all?

All I wanted from my birthday trip to the bezza was 3 points, and that's what we got! I also got five goals and county and daggers losing. I'm a happy chappy even if the first 35 minutes were dross!

Re: Brentford (H) League 1 Tuesday 12/4/11.
Great result for the boys in a spirited 2nd half showing.
Walker - 500th game and many more to come i hope. Didn't have a great deal to do and couldn't do a great deal for their goals. 6/10
Taundry - Thought he was solid throughout the 1st half but was absolutely dreadful in the 2nd. Time and time again in the 2nd half he gave the ball away very cheaply. What was he thinking for their 2nd goal? 5/10
Butler - Usual solid performance throughout. 7/10
Macdonald - Absolutely superb imo. Won absolutely everything that came to him and if that doesn't get him in the starting 11 on saturday then i simple don't know what will. 8/10
Williams - Dodgy in the 1st half, much better in the 2nd. 6/10
Gray - Flashes of good but that was about it. 5/10
Richards - Looked absolutely nackered from the 1st whistle. Anonymous for most of the game. 5/10
Laird - I thought he had a decent game in general, always gets stuck in but seems like he can't pass a ball to save his life. 6/10
Cook - 1st half he wasn't in the game. 2nd half he was 1 of our better players. He has a lot of pace and took his goal brilliantly. 7/10
Byfield - Looked miles better when he was playing on the wing to be honest. Very poor in the 1st half. Set up Cook very well. 6/10
Macken - Easily our best player, gave everything he had. Superb 1st touch and great vision. If his 1st goal isn't goal of the season then it must be a crime. Touched his hand for the 2nd but it wasn't purposely done. 9/10
