Bristol Rovers (H) League 1 Saturday 29/1/11.
10 Points from safety , 20 games remaining , 7 games without a win doesn't paint a pretty picture .
Next up we face fellow struggling Bristol Rovers who sit 22nd in the table on 27 points .
Full away record
won 2 - drew 5 - lost 6 - 16 goals for - 28 against .
Last 6 league games
M K Dons - away - lost 0-2
Plymouth - home - lost 2-3
Walsall - home - drew 2-2
Carlisle - away - lost 0-4
Hartlepool - home- drew 0-0
Swindon - home - won 3-1
Prediction
2-1 home win

Re: Bristol Rovers (H) League 1 Saturday 29/1/11.
Hard one to call this.
Rovers have a very poor away record, and there will not be many teams come to Bescot who we are expected to beat, this is one.
However saying that under new management, they have won 1, drawn 2 and lost 1. So a definate up turn in form (If only we could have done that!)
I will therefore go for a draw taking into consideration the above.
1-1 or 2-2 as we cant keep a cleam sheet for toffee.
If someone asked me to pick a winner, I would have to go for Rovers in all honesty, Under Penney they are a lot better.

An interesting spin on it. If Dave Penney had come as manager here and we'd drawn 2 home games, one against the bottom team in the league and the other against a team who are beatable, and we'd also been given a 4-0 thumping in another match, I don't think we'd have seen it as an "up turn in form" (sic).
That said, they have got a win, which is something we can only dream of at the moment.
2-1 home win after going a goal down.

The big difference between the two sides is that they have two strikers who'll get into double figures no matter where they finish come the end of the season. We've got none.
I think we'll win this one 2-1 too. They concede a lot of goals away from home, which gives us even more of an incentive to bring in a striker in time for him to play.

It'll either be 2-1 to us, or 2-2.

If we can keep a clean sheet then I think we will win.

If we score more than the opposition, I think we stand a good chance of a win.

I agree, but if we kept a clean sheet most games we would be in the playoffs

Have you ever seen Moaning post we are going to win? I am sure if he supported Barcelona he'd predict them to get stuffed every week.

Nice, but 19 draws are not going to save us.

This really is last chance saloon in my opinion. Any thin hope of making the play-offs will be gone if we don't win today.

Whatever it is that you're taking, Neil, I'd be obliged if you could divert some my way!!
I'll go with what appears to be a majority, for a 2-1 home win incorporating about 20 minutes of squeaky bum time towards the end of the game...

Sounds iffy. Was she pregnant or could it be for another reason? If so, hope she is okay. :?
