Then a keeping error let them get one, and the keeper was bullied off the ball for another.

Our keeper looks scared of them. They ARE big and do play like they have a roid rage.

Much as I appreciate Bevan being given his chance in front of Brain, I can't help thinking that if Jimmy Walker is fit (and he is on the bench, so should be), I don't think he would have been "bullied off the ball" by anyone, no matter what size. A possible goalkeeper substitution at half-time, maybe?

Started really well, their equaliser knocked the confidence out of us. It was a really soft goal . Second was a blatant push on Butler and should have been disallowed, but the ref has let them get away with pushing all the way through.

Well - two one down at half time.

A couple of chances for the Saddlers - best was probably the free kick just before end of the half.

It is a good job Peter Sutcliffe, Huddersfields number one fan, was not as big as this lot.

No regular goalscorer (with naff all on the bench to come on); can't defend set pieces (all season).

No dominant keeper (Ince papered over many cracks didn't he?)

Very little confidence all over the park.

When we have to score at least two to get a point (and obviously 3 to get 3 much needed points), the writing appears to be on the wall...

The squad is really weak; maybe with Leicester spending a fortune, we can borrow a few of their cast-offs (but I suspect that Bonser doesn't fancy 'wasting' any more money this season and has told Deano to play the kids...)

Still, can't say I'm surprised by any of this.

Unfortunately, we can play well all we like but we need points. We need a new manager.

We have conceded 8 goals in 3 games so far.. that's nearly a goal conceded every 30 minutes. We will be down by March with stats like that.

Whatever manager we get in, he needs to act quickly and sit the players down and teach them how to defend!
All for next season as this season we are doomed.

A goal conceded every 30 mins = relegation.

No way back from this now, unless a miracle appointment occurs.

Second half we played beautiful passing football. Hudds had two chances and scored two - second an error again by our keeper

If we play like we did second half we will take apart some of the teams in this league.

But we need to take our chances.

It was an enjoyable match to watch - thankfully we have stopped ninety minutes of useless long ball football. If we go down playing like this for the rest of the season I will be less disappointed than if we went down playing the long ball rubbish.

That is encouraging, Scottie_H, but the fact remains we cannot stop conceding goals, something like 16 in the last 5, and 9 in the 3 overseen by Dean Smith. It's not his fault - the blame lies firmly with Hutchings for his incompetence and the Walsall 'board' for their fatal delay in getting rid of him at least two months too late.

We've probably had it now.
