Bristol Rovers (A) League 1 Tuesday 11/1/11. Re Arranged
Not sure if it's worth starting a match thread for this one , if the game is off I'm sure both sets of players will not mind spending the day with their families .
Just in case let's have at look at our hosts recent league form.
Carlisle - home - drew 1-1
Plymouth -away - lost 1-3
Orient - home - lost 0-3
Brighton - away - drew 2-2
Charlton - away- drew 1-1
Sheff Wed- away - lost 2-6
Last league win
Rochdale -home -2-1 - 16/10/12.
Full home record
3 wins - 2 draws - 3 defeats - 7 goals for -12 against .
Rovers sit 2 places and 5 points above us in the table , that makes it a big game for both sides.
Prediction.
Hope the game goes ahead can't think off a better time to play a team struggling worst than us
1-0 away win .

I hope so.
Postponed and played in February. 1-0 win and a late Ince penalty save.
Pretty cold though.

The Gasheads seem to think that there is a chance that it will go ahead:-

If we have any hopes of avoiding the dreaded drop this exactly the sort of game we need to be winning .
Rovers sit 22nd in the table 4 points above us having played one less game .
Prediction
1-0 away win

Having thrown away a 2-0 lead last week against Plymouth, they must be there for the taking - Taking the family for an evening out :D

I'd go as far as saying the result of this game is likely to determine which league we're in next season. Really don't think we can afford anything other than a win.

Agree with what people have said, a must win game.
Hopefully a decent turnout from the Walsall fans aswell as the team need our backing more than ever.
I'll go for 1-0 Walsall, Richards. 8)

They've just appointed Dave Penney as their new manager. Bad news for us.

Pirates 1-2 Walsall as we surge to victory on a wave of optimism.
Doffer to exclusively announce the new manager's name on the pitch at half time, whilst sitting naked in a bathtub full of pork scratchings.

moanin old git wrote:What of it? We've interviewed Barnstoneworth United's manager. They achieved one win last season (though the opposition only had eight players). Their recent 8-1 defeat to Brighouse Town, was a result of poor tactics we know, but only half the team had shorts and the fact that Brighouse Town's centre forward wears glasses (during the match) has no bearing on the superb management skills he brings to the team ... and remember he played for us once! Free transfer it was too, we could have got £3/11/6 for him if JB hadn't been at the helm!
Notwithstanding this amazing scoop, I hope Smithy leads us to a win, I'm going for 0-1 Richards inspired win.
Aye .. but he didn't come on a free transfer from Walsall to argue abart t' bloody shorts!

Bristol Rovers have not won a league game in 10 matches.
If we fail to win here, we wont win anywhere.

How many times have we entertained teams on losing runs and turned it round for them,
and with a new manager to impress I fear the worst 2-1 to them.

Time to be positive. Going down tonight on the coach. Massive game, calling on all Saddlers to give it as much vocal support as possible tonight. I expect no more then 200 and with their crappy rugby stadium it will be hard work but 3 points tonight will be massive. (I have a 100% record away at Rovers)
1-2 to the Saddlers, Macken with both
1-2 to the Saddlers, Macken with both
