Cue smug posts from Sheff and Duffer along the lines of "I told you so"

We have 60% possession, and we've had more attempts on target and more corners. This would normally be the stage of the game when I would start wittering on about the need for substitution to be considered because of our increasing need to score goals. However, we have three specialist strikers already on the park - what should DS do?

Put Marshall on? Trade him for Macken and go wider.

Yeovil still ahead at Hillsborough, but will have to play the last 20 minutes with 10 men. Yes, we do need a winner, but where's it coming from?

Put it this way - with sickness in the family, living 148 miles away from the ground, and with my vehicle off the road for the past six weeks, then no, I'm unable to be there tonight. All sarcastic comments welcomed, after all sarcasm is the lowest form of wit and it's about your level.

I don't think that's too bad. Put it this way, we had less than that when we beat them 3-0 last season [3,191,Tuesday night match] and we were in the top 7 or 8 at the time!

A draw is better than nothing, but we simply have to beat Bristol Rovers on Saturday [can't see it myself, not with our defence and Kuffour/Hoskins upfront for them, but you live in hope].

That's 3 points from 15. It's nice to see us trying but that form is horrific.

The more I think about, the more completely ridiculous this appointment is. He should not be put in this position.

I would also like the thoughts of Magic man Fan and his statements about Dean Smith going to 'surprise' everyone ? ;)

I seriously think, that with a new fresh face in charge, we would have won that game tonight.

Especially at home. If we don't win the home games at least - then we will probably finish with a record low points total.

But to get every draw we've come from behind, which shows fighting spirit. Not Smith's fault if the team isn't up to it. He's doing the best he can with a group of players that (collectively) don't seem good enough.

Just got in myself.

Only a draw but i thought we played reasonably well but lacked any sort of quality.

Havent seen Walker yet this season but i have endured the crap that is Jonny Brain, and my my what a difference he makes. Loud, organises and looks like he gives a toss. Bit slow for the goal mind, but it was through a sea of bodies.

Westlakes goal was quality.

The word being banded around is "fight" but you cant really use any other word to describe the difference. I think we are down now we desperatly needed a win but i enjoyed the match tonight.

Walker - Loudmouth, just what we need.
Westlake - MOTM deservedly i think.
Butler - The bloke cant play footballl to save his life, not too bothered he is a solid enough defender.
Lancashire - As above but not as good.
Lescott - Odd game, looked good at times and shocking in others. Comfortable enough out left though.

Nicholls - Ran himself ragged, one of his better games but he will never be good enough.
Gill - In and out, but looks alright.
Richards - Decent game, nothing special. Calm on the ball as always, and didnt lose possesion.
Gray - Average game, put about as much effort in as you will ever get with him. Wish he would take on full backs more.

Grigg - Should have scored, he can play, lacks pace.
Macken - Needs someone to play off him.

Subs
Marshall - Not much time to do anything, but another player who looks comfortable on the ball.

Oldham are not much better than us, they just are organised. It goes a long way, they dont play pretty either. The ref was abysmal, so were the linesmen.

To be honest i was not happy with the appointment, but with that crock of players thats about as good as we will get, we desperatly need fresh players.

Agree with much of that Latvian.

Two good goals

Ref let a lot of physical stuff go which played to their strengths

Gray came up against a very good fullback tonight

We were much more solid at the back but abit lightweight up front

Plenty of fight and some decent football in the first half with their 'keeper making two or three decent saves

I thought that we lost our way a little in the last 15 minutes and resorted to a bit of hoofball - desperation, probably

Overall a fair result, I think

Sorry Daz, not a chance in hell, they worked stupidly hard tonight, I'm afraid the players are just not good enough in terms of quality.

Enjoyed the game and the effort they all put in, results not yet improving but we're getting a hell of a lot of fight from the lads, which makes such a change.

Clear out some of the dross in the summer and some of these lads will do well in division 4. It's too late for us Im afraid, let's get a bit of a run going and build for next season.

The club just took too long to get rid of Hutchings

Finally, a word for the ref............................ tosser
