Peterborough United (H) League 1 Tuesday 2/11/10.

Sat Oct 30, 2010 4:29 pm

Once again we find ourselves bottom of the table facing a must win game , we are now 6 points from safety .

Peterborough looking for a swift return to the championship sit 5th in the table on 22 points from 14 games.

Our visitors last 6 league games .

Notts County - home - lost 2-3
Carlisle - away - won 1-0
Hartlepool - away - lost 0-2
Swindon - home - won 5-4
Brentford - away - lost 1-2
Brighton - home -lost 0-3

Prediction
I'm hopeful of at least a point looking at the Posh last 2 away games .

3-1 defeat, in front of 3,000 or so - including 500 from Peterborough.

I'm just gonna drink as many pints as possible and hope I can forget most of it. Should imagine I could manage the odd "We want Hutchings out" as well.

That will be 3 like normal then Tinned?

Cannot be bothered with the results anymore if it wasn’t for having a season ticket I doubt if I would bother with the match.

Looking on the bright side (if there is one  ) at least the Posh will be without George Boyd - he was straight red-carded today against Brighton, so it will almost be like Walsall playing against ten men. This means we should.... oh, sorry

Heavy defeat looming, I'm afraid. If we can lose 4-1 against a distinctly average side like Tranmere, similar must surely follow on Tuesday.

No, that was home vs Southport (long before you were even a twinkle in your daddy's eye) in the late '50s. Never happened since, as far as I can recall, except a friendly vs St Etienne in the '60s. I was at both games of course, though only a kid.

This sort of history of devoted support is the reason why people like me have EARNED the right to stayaway now. :)

Correct. I, too, was at both games.

The Southport game was on November 21st 1959. Amazingly, Tony Richards did not score any of the goals but Colin Taylor scored a hat-trick. I think that the Southport goalkeeper was called Barnard. I felt so sorry for him, having such a shyte team in front of him. Even though I was 14, clearly teenage cynicism had not set in yet! :D

We lost 8-1 at Bolton not to long after I started going, and as I remember it was very close to a 6-3 defeat at Oxford. Great manager that Buckley :D

Walsall 0 Peterborough 0. Both teams warmly applauded off by the delighted fans at full time.

Tinned to spend the whole game goading the Midland Bus driver with his train ticket.

3-1 Walsall. Macken, Taundry and Wacka with the goals. Hutch to be sacked after 8 minutes of the second half trying to defend a 0-1 scoreline whilst watching his favourite DVD (Word's sh@tist football cliches part 4)

I know this might come back and bite me in the posterior but I am really looking forward to tonights game. Regardless of what the manager does or doesn't do I think the players will dig in and in the face of adversity get us a result. Just maybe they will play to their potential, hope Devaney's fit though as he is our biggest threat.

I reckon 2-1 to Walsall Devaney and Smith with the goals
