Chesterfield (H) JP Trophy Tuesday 31/8/10

Sat Aug 28, 2010 4:15 pm

After disappointment at the seaside we have a great opportunity to get back to winning way against league 2 Chesterfield.

A look at our visitors start to the season.

Barnet - home - won 2-1
Port Vale- away - drew 1-1
Hereford - home - won 4-0
Macclesfield - away - drew 1-1

The Spiretes sit fourth in the league 2 table , their only defeat to date was a 1-2 in the Carling cup against Championship Middlesbrough .

Prediction : 2-0 home win .

our luck in a cup competition as to change sometime

I see you've dumped the best midfielder we had last time we played at home, who also made a great surging run and slotted through a terrific pass that led to our only goal yesterday, for a kid with about 15 minutes of first team football under his belt.

5-1 to Chesterfield with Mattis scoring all 6 goals, each time taking on all 21 players whilst balancing the ball on his walrus sized schlong, giving everyone the opportunity to slate Hutchings for letting him go.

King Crimson, whats the problem in resting our best midfielder for the Colchester game on Sat? no harm in giving Geddes a run out in the cup, we'll probably play crap and go out anyway.

Only made a surging run because the ref spotted him in space and made a sweet pass to him :D

A) we could do with a cup run
B) you've not chosen to rest anyone else. If it's about bringing the kids on, why not wholesale changes
C) Mattis will eat Geddes alive

Sounds good to me , shame there will probably be no one there to witness it :D

Don't know which way this game will go, with our cup record, you would suspect a defeat, but in reality , we should win.

Either way, I agree with Evo. I hate Chesterfield, and their crooked spire.

We'll win 1-0, the attendance to be less than 1,000.

I dont even know if I can be bothered to go to this game, we've been awful in cup competitions lately, and this is the cup competition I care about least.

Conversely it's the only cup competition we actually have a chance of doing well in.

I'll be listening to this on Saddlers Player, cup games are NOT worth the time and effort at the Banks's's's's's's. Fact.

I'm going with my pet Albion fan.

I like to mock him.

9-7 Walsall. Baz to mud wrestle Jorge in a "little and large" match.

Jorge to overcome Baz by hitting him in the face with a bag of frozen salmon.

Walsall 5-3 Chesterfield

A come-from-behind thriller with 2 goals in the last three minutes sealing the match for Walsall after we go 3-0 down before half time.

DanWalsallFC to have bitten his nails down to nubs and thrown his computer out of the window, missing the final result, before running onto the street naked shouting "I wish I'd made the time and the effort!".

FACT.

Can we do anything sensible like pay on the gate tonight, or do we have to queue at the ticket office?
