Tranmere Rovers (H) Carling Cup Ist Round Tuesday 10/8/10.
After the disappointment of losing our opening league fixture for the first time in 12 years we turn our attention to our first cup encounter.
Tranmere began the season with 1-2 home defeat by Oldham.
Prediction a tight 1-0 home win

Look at it this way, tape - if your lad is misbehaved or gets on your nerves during the long school holiday, you can always threaten him with taking him to a Walsall match!
(I'd keep quiet about it, though, just in case the Child Abuse officers from Social Services get to hear about it.)

Think we will scrape it 1-0.
Stafflers to refuse to announce the time allowed at the end of the second half in protest at having no substitutions to voice.

Walsall 4 - 1 Tranmere
Tranmere to be handed a severe lesson in football as Walsall stroke the ball around the pitch with ease, cutting open the Wirral sides defensive line time and time again, the Tranmere keeper's gloves will glow white hot as he desperately fights off shot after shot from Walsall's marauding forwards. Resistance will only last for so long before Jones, Nicholls and a Byfield double will see the Saddlers run out easy winners.

If we continue with our hoof ball tactics then i would play this team:
------------------Brain-------------------
Lescott, Lancashire, Smith, Mcgivern
--------Jones, Taundry, Marshall------
-------Nicholls, Mcdonald, Byfield-----
If we start playing football then i would keep it the same as saturday apart from marshall should play instead of richards.

So Jones as a holding midfielder rather than one of teh front three instead of the atrocious Nicholls?

1 - 0 win to us in the last minute of extra time (is there still extratime in the Fizzy Europop Cup?).
It will be so dull that 99% of the crowd will be praying for a goal (from either side) after 50 minutes just to avoid the torture of extra time (if indeed there is extra time).
Evo to bite chunks out of numerous Fruit Polo's and use them has ear and nose rings. Dynamo Zuffle to eat them straight from Evo's face due to being hungry after a surprise mass purchase of half time soup leaves him wothout his preferred half time refreshment.

Well seeing beer is my favourite half time refreshment I doubt if I will be eating anything off Evo.
We will win this one 89-88 on penalties with the crowd leaving the ground at 2.45am

It may work, he bought on Parkin to take a penalty last season, which he promptly missed :D
I am going tomorrow, and actually looking forward to it. See how I feel 20 minutes in though :|

I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than watch the shower of shite that'll be on show tomorrow.
I predicted 2-0 to us but the nearer we get to that I predict a very boring 0-0 in the rain. Tranmere to win it on penalties.

Heart says 1-0 Walsall, with Grigg coming off the bench to score the winner......
Head says 0-0 and lose on penalties.

Re: Tranmere Rovers (H) Carling Cup Ist Round Tuesday 10/8/10.
This may seen a little OTT, but I think this is a massive game for Chris Hutchings..
Win and we may get a good draw in the next round and start a feel good factor going.
If we lose against a poor side like Tranmere at home.. Then serious questions need to start being asked..

You're correct, didn't realise he was unavailable tonight. Given he was one of our better players on Saturday then it could be a blow.
I think Lescott should be moved across and Westlake brought in to cover RB.
