Looked like a pratt but i don't care. Great day, well done to everyone involved.

Thought we played some great football in the first half too.

Photo taken by my embarrassed mother. I visit her and end up looking like this.

Clearly one of those 'sinister' fans Whalley talks of.

Excellent Sam, although you need to work a little more on your choreography with Dancing Kev.

Anyone know who won the toss and why they switched ends? Seemed a bizzare decision for a end of season game :? Its also one of my pet hates.

Me too. However, the senior citizens who sit behind me and have moaned about him all season had something of an epiphany: "Maybe he's better in our midfield." said one, as he grudgingly acknowledged his contributions of late. I think that's largely true, but I also think the return of Jones from injury and the signing of Gray has had a massive influence on Richard's game. Playing with players of experience alongside him means that they read the game as well as he does, understand the positions they should be in, and offer opportunities to pass and move.

Let's not let the jaundiced opinions of phil and chums get in the way of this. Matt Richards IS a proper footballer. Irrespective of what position he's played in this season, his pass completion has always been good, he takes as good a free kick and corner as anyone and his reading of the game is excellent. These are the marks of someone who can play. Compare him directly then with Taundry yesterday: Apart from those who think the most important attributes for a footballer are being "a good, honest local lad" and "putting in a shift", no one could argue against the fact that Taundry was far inferior. First touch, decision making, shooting, pass completion all much worse. Still, he takes a half decent long throw, eh? I can't remember who, but someone on here even suggested we 'build a team' around Taundry. Ridiculous.

Great result to beat the Mongs and reach the top ten. Really pleased with the way we finished the season. Now, if we can only do a whole season like that....

We won the toss - the losers kick off. At the time it seemed clear to me that it was so that when Clayton Ince came on in the second half he'd be at the home end. Events proved me wrong.

I don't think you can any more. I'm fairly sure the winners choose ends. Anyone?

Matt Richards also covered a lot of ground and clearly 'put in a shift'.

I agree. But its only fans who award footballers effort marks. That's why "lazy" Junior isn't revered, nor Ricketts, but Leitao is a legend. Taundry is excused a lot as a result of his perceived work rate - however futile much of that "work" actually is.

In the old days kickings towards your own fans always seemed to give the team a lift.
Nowdays apart from last few games the atmophere is so bad it makes no difference which end you play first half/second half.

The change in atmosphere probably means they'll be ordered not to do that next season.

Your outing with Dancing Kev made me chuckle!! Well done.

I really enjoyed the game on Saturday. Noisy crowd, good game of footie and the right result all contributed to an afternoon well spent.

Not much comment on the increased size of the crowd - how much was due to the protest I wonder.

I sat in floors 2 go lower for the first time in about 2-3 years. What an amazing atmosphere compared to Middle.
View isnt as good, or I just need to get used to it again! But atmosphere was much better. Felt like I could actually join in the singing and banter without getting funny looks! :P

What was the bet again?

Was it finish 10th or higher & I pay £10.00. Below 10th you pay £10.00?

I think we''ll get rolled 2-0 Saturday.

We're due a home defeat. Ince will throw one in the net & Hutchout will play the kids.

Alas no mr asps it was top 12 you pay 13th or below i pay,But to make it intersting il also pay if we finish 12th.
