Attendance 3,616, exactly the same as for the match against Leyton Orient in December.

So would that be a straight swap and smith play at RB? Be the most simple of choices. A bit more complicated could be taundry to right back, vincent to left back, richards into centre mid and smith into centre back, but that's probably too many positional changes!!!

Hope Mattis is okay. :?

No idea why smith came on, but perhaps they were doing the age old hoofball tactic of playing it towards a fullback?

Ill go for another draw. 1-1

Class? They sent him back as soon as his loan expired saying they couldn't guarantee him first team football. After a good first couple of games, he couldn't even get a starting place by the end of his loan spell.

Here we go again, 'vague' & 'generalised' predictions, why could you not give the times of the goals then?

I still havn't 'come down' yet from Tuesday, I screamed and shouted so much, I couldn't talk the next Day!
Our team are now great favourites with the seven Huddersfield fans that I work with!

I hope Saturday won't be a letdown, I too get that 1-1 feeling.........

My crystal ball broke. Just awaiting delivery of a new one. How ever the cards say we shall come from behind if that helps :D

So close on the goalscorers! And attendance. But a correct score. :D

At least they didn't do it against us in the week.

A second successive win, and sounds like we edged it.

After beating Leeds - with the confidence that gives - we should be beating teams like the Bees comfortably at home if we are to get anywhere near the playoffs. :|
Still, a win's a win and it is good to see we can come from behind as it shows a bit of character. :D
At least we are nearer the playoffs than relegation now.

A game of two halves if I may be permitted that corny old cliché? It is fair to say that we were poor in first half but better in the second. It is our "tactical plan" (if it actually exists) that worries me.

Why, oh why, do we insist on playing so much "hoofball"? The very first time that we got the ball DOWN ON THE GROUND, we actually scored a very good goal (by Nicholls). At other times, we just hoofed the ball aimlessly upfield and played the percentages game. It's not as if we have physically powerful strikers who are good in the air. Also, it is unfair to criticise the midfield too much when they are frequently by-passed. I would be interested to know if the team are playing to instructions. If so, then CH and MO are clearly culpable.

Ince - little to do, one or two dodgy moments but generally o.k.
Westlake - sound but gave Myles Weston a bit too much room. I suspect that it was a diplomatic injury that saw him replaced at the interval.
Smith - played well when he came on at right-back. Totally unnecessary caution for petulance, near the end (some referees might have sent him off).
McDonald - a powerful colossus but clumsy at times. Deserved his caution.
Vincent - calm and steady but at fault (with Richards) for their goal.
Richards - looked very comfortable, back in his original position. Our only defender who tried to actually pass the ball rather than just "lump" it. Would have been my MotM (never thought that I would ever say that! :) )
Nicholls - shoved back out wide right to accommodate Byfield. Improved as the game progressed. Scored one and laid on the other, "on a plate", for Deeney ... and to think Hutchings prefers Till to him!
Mattis - a battler and a scrapper and that's all. Still no evidence of any constructive ability. Stretchered off, injured. Looks like an injury to his left knee (any news from the club, yet?).
Bradley - never really got into the game when he replaced Mattis. Mixture of a performance - some nice touches and some errors.
Taundry - another who improved as the game went on. His passing is improving now. Would have been my second choice for MotM.
Gray - quiet but promising home début. How the sponsors named him MotM, I'll never know.
Byfield - very poor first half partly due to non-existent service. Much bigger threat to the Bees' defence in the second half. Should have scored a hat-trick.
Deeney - a poor game despite taking his goal well (diving header from an inch-perfect Nicholls cross). He does not read the game well and cannot anticipate others' moves.

Still, a win's a win, for all that. Roll on Tuesday and a third successive victory.

Fouls by McDonald & Deeney, deserved their yellow cards. Thought Smith lucky to stay on the pitch when he appeared to knock flag from assistants hand.

Good result, especially given that we'd fallen behind ( for me, the mistake was Vincent's). Not a brilliant performance, but second half I thought we deserved to edge it. "winning ugly" is how the egg-chasers refer to it.

Good win for us. Came from 1 down to win which is good for us and we usually keel over at home.

I thought Brentford were a pretty average side and it was a pretty boring game after tuesday's excitement . I thought we were average aswell.

Glad Nicholls got a goal and an assist as it shows why he should be in the team. However, i'd rather have him upfront rather on the wing.

Byfield should be dropped in my opinion. His performances are shocking and his attitude stinks. Why the hell was he given captaincy when Mattis went off? I didn't see him give on instruction. It should have been given to Vincent.

Brings me to my next point. I thought it was a very bad tackle of Mattis and suprised the ref didn't call it up. There was no intent about it, but it was late and you could tell as soon as it happened that something was up. Hope Mattis is back soon.

McDonald. As good as he is defensively, he is shocking with the ball at his feet. He needs to learn to play the simple pass instead of lumping it as far as possible.

I thought Manny Smith was very lucky not to get sent off. If I was the ref he would have been given his marching orders. I know the linesman probably got the decision wrong but there was no need at all for him to react in the manner he did.

Another thing, how did Gray get MOTM? I would have given it to either Nicholls or Vincent.

Overall, a good win with a good comeback. In my opinion I think a draw would have been fair, but i'm not complaining about the three points.

Just like to point that the second goal came from Taundry breaking up play and pinging a great ball to Nicholls, who hung up a perfect cross for Deeney to finish with a diving header. All home grown players. Absolutely fantastic!!

The game itself was extremely scrappy on a difficult surface, but great character shown by the lads to come back from a goal down.

Hopefully we can take confidence from this into the Yeovil game on Tuesday!
